Thanks to all the volunteers who helped out for Covered Bridge Day at Tohickon Campground and Stover-Myers Mill, and for The Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Society of PA and Visit Bucks County for participating. We got to talk with a lot of people about their love of covered bridges, and folks learned about our efforts to save them.

Nice turnout for the Crooked Billet History Fair hosted by the The Millbrook Society in Horsham today. Our booth for the Bucks County Covered Bridge Society was very popular. About 40 groups from Bucks and Montgomery counties had displays and tables.

Thanks again to The Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Society of PA for asking me to speak Sunday afternoon on the the early history of covered bridge preservation. The Burr Society in its early days helped preserve the Knox Covered Bridge at Valley Forge as well as four other covered bridges in the early 1960s.

It is getting close to Spring and time for Covered Bridge presentations. Last Monday, the Wissahickon Valley Historical Society hosted a talk about the lost covered bridges on Montgomery County and on Sunday, we talked about the former bridges on the Delaware River at Williams Township Historical Society in Northampton County. Next up: a presentation at the monthly meeting of The Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Society of PA on Sunday, April 6 at Columbia, Pa., and then the Crooked Billet History Fair on April 26 in Horsham for The Millbrook Society.
