At the library, every story matters—and every reader belongs.

This June, we celebrate the diversity of our community and the many voices, experiences, and perspectives that make it stronger. Whether you’re discovering a new favorite book, finding resources, connecting with others, or simply enjoying a quiet place to be yourself, there’s a place for you here.

Because reading is for everyone. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Discover how a global League of Extraordinary Artists is harnessing the power of the arts as a tool for healing and empowering youth impacted by serious illnesses, disabilities, and complex mental health, developmental or medical needs. The storytelling collaboration begins when kids and teens are interviewed about who they are beyond their diagnosis and how they want to make a positive difference in the world. Each child is matched with an illustrator who designs the heroic alter ego they describe – visual representations of their strength, courage and creativity. Hear how illustrators tackle the challenge of taking art direction from a child and
celebrating their differences, and how this new pantheon of young superheroes can change the world.

This workshop will be facilitated by Superhero Project founder, Lisa Kollins. We encourage you to check the Representational Justice & A New Pantheon of Heroes program on Thurs, June 25 / 6:30 as well. Registration opens May 23! Reserve your spot!

Moms have spoken… and one of the sweetest Mother’s Day gifts might just be a little extra time to read — especially with someone they love. 📚💐

Stop by the Orange Branch Library and pick out a book Mom would enjoy, whether it’s one she can savor on her own or one you can read together. Stories make some of the very best memories. 💛

Wishing all the amazing moms, grandmas, caregivers, and mother figures a very happy Mother’s Day from the Friends of the Orange Branch Library!

🌟 National Library Workers Day 🌟

Today we’re celebrating the incredible team at the Orange Branch Library—the people who keep everything running, welcoming, and inspiring day in and day out.

From helping kids discover their next favorite book, to guiding job seekers, to creating programs that bring our community together… library workers do it all (and somehow make it look easy 💛).

They are the friendly faces at the desk, the behind-the-scenes problem solvers, and the heart of everything we love about our library.

Want to celebrate with us? Here are a few simple ways to show your appreciation:
✨ Say thank you next time you visit
✨ Bring a friend and introduce them to the library
✨ Write a quick note or leave a positive comment
✨ Share your favorite library memory

Because sometimes the simplest gesture—a genuine “thank you”—means the most.

Today and every day, we’re grateful for our amazing library workers. 💛📚

Joy isn’t one-size-fits-all. For some, it’s losing track of time in a stack of graphic novels. For others, it’s the confidence of a polished résumé, the energy of a packed author talk, or simply having free Wi-Fi right when it’s needed most.

Whatever joy looks like to you, you’ll find it at the library. No barriers. No cost. Just walk in.

During National Library Week (April 19–25), celebrate all the ways libraries bring joy to our lives and communities—and discover yours:

✨ Stop by the library (bring a friend!)
✨ Help someone sign up for a library card—it’s a small step with big impact
✨ Try something new—something you didn’t even know you were looking for

There’s always something here waiting for you.

Find your joy. It’s waiting at the library.
