Kindness took center stage in Louisville!

Our JFSA Horvitz YouthAbility Ambassadors just returned from an incredible 5-day journey to Louisville, KY, filled with service, friendship, and unforgettable experiences.

From volunteering at Blackacre Nature Preserve to exploring the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, Muhammad Ali Center, and the Kentucky Derby Museum, the group experienced history, culture, and community in powerful ways.

A highlight of the trip was performing “Kindness Grows” at the Actors Theatre of Louisville! Together, they experienced art, music, basketball, and laughter.

As one Ambassador asked on the ride home: “Can we do this again next week?”

Twenty-six JFSA older adult Holocaust survivors received free hearing aids through the Hear in Cleveland initiative, supported by the Jewish Federation Cleveland.

Hear in Cleveland offers essential hearing care at no cost to help reduce isolation and improve well-being for vulnerable individuals in Northeast Ohio. The Starkey Corporation, through its nonprofit foundation Starkey Cares, supplies the hearing aids. University Hospitals’ ENT department conducts ear health evaluations while the audiology services are provided by Starkey's audiology network, the University Hospitals Audiology Department, Kent State University’s Northeastern Ohio Audiology Consortium, and Cleveland State University’s Health Speech and Hearing Clinic.

Hear in Cleveland was co-founded by JFSA board member Dr. David Rosenberg and Fortunato Figliano, owner of Centers for Hearing Care in Youngstown, Ohio.
