Operation Patriot Paws Mission
The OPERATION Patriot Paws (OPP) mission is to transform loneliness into hope by empowering Veterans and rescue animals through the human-animal bond.

Vision
Our vision is to unite two legs with four and save lives. OPERATION Patriot Paws (OPP) is an IRS 501(c)(3) not for profit charitable organization. We are a volunteer based organization established in November 2018. Our team is comprised of Veterans, mental health professionals, veterinarians, trainers, fosters, transporters, animal advocates, and more. The majority of OPP’s animals come from high kill shelters. Instead of a life of abandonment or euthanasia, we rescue, foster, and provide veterinary care and training. Every animal is in the care of dedicated fosters and lives in a home with families, kids, or other companion animals while decompressing from shelter life. OPP supports those who have supported us by uniting these animals with Veterans. Humans and pets share a mutually beneficial connection. This relationship improves the health and well-being of both, changing and saving lives. OPP is 100% donation funded. Every dollar is put back into the organization to save lives

For most of the country, 9/11 is a memory.

You remember where you were. You remember the phone calls. You remember watching it and not understanding what you were watching. And then twenty-five years passed and it became something you commemorate once a year.

For some people it did not become a memory. It became a life.

They enlisted because of that morning. Some of them were nineteen. Some of them were kids who watched it on a television in a middle school classroom and made a decision that day that they would not talk about for another four years. Then they went, and they went back, and they went back again.

And they came home with a nervous system that never got the message that it was over.

That is the part nobody sees. The scanning. The seat facing the door. The way a normal Tuesday can cost more than anyone would believe. Twenty-five years of a body that has not stood down because it was never told it could.

This week the country will remember the morning. Mission 22 is thinking about the twenty-five years that came after it, and the people still carrying them.

Did 9/11 put you in uniform? Tell us how old you were. 👇

On this day... 25 years ago 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift. None of them saw past 10:00am Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment life may never be the same.
