was founded to
augment the work of the Adopt-a-School
Program in Peoria Public Schools and Peoria Heights Schools. By helping
children have access to books at home, we
hope to strengthen learning and instill a
lifelong love of reading. Our many "thank
you" notes from children indicate that it is
working!

The gala broke all records because our mission is valued by all while having a blast at THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH! Thanks to all of our volunteers and generous supporters every day as we buy, warehouse and distribute books that shape the lives of kids. “It doesn’t get any better than that!”

Today, we believe in the power of giving books to children and feel the loss of Dolly Parton especially deeply.

Dolly understood something beautifully simple: a book placed in a child’s hands can open their world.

At Look. It’s My Book!, her mission is near and dear to our hearts. We, too, go above and beyond to put books into children’s hands and homes in Peoria, IL.

Our annual gala is just around the corner, and we are so excited for this weekend! We've been blown away by the incredible donations we've received for our silent auction. A special thank you goes to our School Distribution Teams for their generous contributions to this year's featured baskets. We truly couldn't have done it without your support. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this event possible!

A huge round of applause to these incredible local restaurants for their donations towards our 2026 Gala Silent Auction! Thanks to their support, they're helping put 46,000 books into the hands of kids around Central Illinois this year!

Are you interested in getting in on the action for this year's silent auction? Good news! We have a couple of extra seats just added for this year's gala on August 22! Hurry, these extra seats are about to sell out. Email Louise Hodge at [email protected] with your guests' names and your entree choices from 1) maple pork tenderloin, 2) lemon caper chicken, and 3) vegetable lasagna. $150 per guest.
