Good afternoon all,
Another good week of production is almost in the books as we continue to work towards the end of the project. Crews have almost finished all concrete to Garfield, aside from the NW corner, Moss Terrace and a driveway on the south side. Crews will get those finished early next week. Also, crews will continue to do removals from Sheridan to Garfield, and JC Dillon will continue to work on water services in that area as well. Expect daytime closures in that area. Please use the Union Hill and not Garfield to access your apartments that are located near the Union Hill (Cody Court, Brownstones, Etc.) Garfield is CLOSED to southbound traffic; the only way you should be traveling on Garfield is if you’re going northbound towards Main Street. Oberlander should be in next week to work on light foundations and the push buttons at the intersection. Kelch will be back next week, weather permitting to finish sod on the west side of the intersection and start moving towards Garfield on the east side. If you’re wondering why they only have laid a few rows of sod so far, there’s a couple of reasons. They were not able to get into their fields to get enough sod to finish everything, therefore they thought doing strips along the sidewalk and curbs would help the washing out of dirt from all the recent rains. Hopefully that is all buttoned up next week.

A couple of notes about the sale:
Crews have removed as many drums, barricades and cones as possible, without making it unsafe, on the west side of the intersection.
Moss is and will still be closed to east west traffic at the intersection.
The city will be putting up barricades for the rest of the sale, we have no part in that.
East of the MacArthur intersection to Sheridan is still an active construction zone and we are urging residents and their guests to treat it as such.
There will be temporary no parking signs going up today for the weekend as we don’t want the general public parking in the construction zone.

Hope the sale goes smoothly and well for all!

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions/comments/concerns you may have and I will be happy to help you.

Enjoy the weekend,

Good afternoon,
We have bricks! The bricks are in and finished up to Garfield. With that being said, asphalt is tentatively scheduled for next Tuesday. Once asphalt is laid from Garfield to near Moss Terrace, as well as the small section on the west side of the intersection, all driveways that are finished will be opened. This will more than likely be very late in the work day on Tuesday. If that happens to change, I will let you know. Crews will finish up driveways on Monday before focusing on sidewalks and carriage walks. Speaking of driveways, some of you may have concerns about how the new driveways are being poured and how they look, basically wondering why they aren’t poured from point A to point B and all the same slope, and the reason is because we are required by both federal and state ADA requirements that the sidewalks through the driveways be ADA compliant, thus not allowing them to have large slopes. You may see a mill working sometime next week from Union Hill (will remain open for the time being) to Sheridan Rd., as they prepare for the next area that they will work to complete. JC Dillon will begin working on services next week, there will be no disruption of your water service at this time. If you have a lead customer side service, a representative from JC Dillon should be reaching out to you very soon. Oberlander will continue to work in the MacArthur/University intersection, and you may see them starting to dig for light pole foundations that were removed from just west of the intersection to Garfield.

Please be mindful of all the equipment and workers in the work zone.

If you have any questions/comments/concerns, please reach out to me and I will be happy to help.

Enjoy the weather this weekend,

Good afternoon all,
We had a good productive week on Moss Ave heading into the holiday weekend. Next week will be just as busy. UCM will continue to pour driveways and sidewalks back next week, as well as back filling wherever they can. JC Dillon will finish up the water main next week. At some point early next week, they will be doing a tie-in at Sheridan Rd and Moss. We will not have to block that intersection off, but there will be some congestion down there while they are working. After they finish the with water main, they will start working on services. If you have a lead service, someone from JC Dillon should be contacting you in the next 2 weeks. The brick contractor will also be on site next week, the will finish the roughly 50’ they have on the west side of the McArthur intersection before they start on the east side of the intersection. Once the brick is finished, late next week into early the following week, you should see paving crews shortly after. I will update that as we get closer. Also, there will be a contractor in next week grinding stumps down where trees were removed last year.

There will be no crews working tomorrow or Monday due to the holiday.

Please continue to watch for workers and equipment, there is a lot going on out there in a small area.

Thank you for your continued patience as we continue to work towards the finish line.

Enjoy the holiday weekend,

Good afternoon all,
Just wanted to give you a heads up on the scheduling for this week. As of right now there will be a curb pour Wednesday from near MacArthur to Garfield on the north side. Those in that stretch should have received a door hanger this morning, it’s also attached in the email as well. The daytime closure at Douglas scheduled for tomorrow will now be moved to Wednesday do to the heavy rains this morning.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
