The Pea Pod Angelz Rescue is a small, non- profit charity started by one lil gal, Shannon Hess-Jacka, who found deep inspiration within herself and decided to follow her heart and “Angelz” to make a difference in the faces of Arizona people in need. Combined with a network of old friends, new friends and of course our “Angelz” magic is happening and my passion, drive and fire to make a difference
increases with each day. The difference with me…is no donation is resold and we are local helping right here at home! Since the initial “small” lunch we have managed to pull all our resources together and have fed approximately 700 homeless men and women a warm meal, clothes, shoes, and bags of personal hygiene items. In 2014 I wanted to do more; I wanted to reach and help as many as we could! The question was HOW? I got with my amazing husband JR Jacka and my business partner and sister from another Michelle “Lil One” Maciulis and we started going straight to the streets of downtown Phoenix, 12th Avenue and Jefferson to be exact. So on the first Saturday of each month along with the help of our “Angelz” we have given out from the back of my truck approximately 600 Personal Hygiene bags, snack bags, and Toilet Paper and Water bags along with almost 800 sandwiches and each month those numbers get bigger. What isn’t donated comes out of our own pockets; we have even had a car show and a car wash to help. Handing out bags of goodies and serving meals to our homeless is not the only help we have given. We have also sorted thru many donations of clothes, shoes and misc items to cloth as many men, women and children we can. If the needy can’t make it to us, we will go to them. Pea Pod Angelz Rescue has not applied for nor have we received any government or church grants, if it isn’t donated to us, it’s self funded. Recently 3 locally owned and operated businesses have reached out and given us some unexpected assistance. Can-Do Promotions supplies us with oral hygiene for approximately 100 people each month, Coast to Coast Trophies assist with supplies for the sandwiches and Mouse’s Kustom Fab sponsored our recent car wash. We can’t help everyone even though we do try, but we can’t do it alone it does take a lil help from others. No Donation is ever too small; we appreciate every item we get help with. The Pea Pod Angelz are here to help our Arizona homeless, everything donated gets put in the hands of an Arizonian in need.
