Robot Casserole, FRC Team 1736 Robot Casserole, FIRST Robotics Competition Team 1736, is a community-based high school robotics team in Peoria, Illinois. The team meets year-round.

Robot Casserole, FIRST Robotics Competition Team 1736, is a community-based team in Peoria, Illinois. Students age 14-18 from any private, public, or homeschool high school in the surrounding area are eligible to apply to the team. We have and have had students from Richwoods High School, Quest Academy, Brimfield High School, Dunlap High School, IVC and homeschoolers from Peoria and Lacon. Our men

tors include men and women employed at Caterpillar, Ameren, the Peoria Police Department, OSF, Alumni college students, public school teachers, and small business owners. From September to early December, students meet with mentors twice a week to learn skills in preparation for the upcoming FIRST Robotics Competition. January through April includes a six-week build season (5 days per week) and competitions. Our team also works year-round promoting STEM education and FIRST programs through a wide variety of activities. Learn more at www.robotcasserole.org

Robot Casserole would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Dottie. She and her husband were instrumental in getting our team started back in 2005, happily driving a robot and themselves down to Peoria to share FIRST with local CAT executives. As many know, simply hearing a description about how great FIRST is, just isn't as impactful. Thank you, Dottie, for all you have done for our team and the thousands of students in Illinois and beyond that you directly and indirectly touched!
In 2024 (see picture in comments), our lead mentor got a chance to sit down with Dottie and AL at R2OC for an FRC in Illinois lesson!

FIRST Illinois Robotics is sad to share the passing of Dottie Skierkiewicz.

Dottie was a beloved member of the FIRST Illinois Robotics community and changed the lives of thousands across the globe.

For those local, a wake will be held on Friday, May 8th, from 4-8pm at Gleukert Funeral Home in Arlington Heights.

In lieu of flowers, the Skierkiewicz Family would like you to consider donating to your local Robotics Team.
