establishment of NSBE Charter organizations. Mr. Boswell will share with us his experiences as a leader as the organization came in to formation. Are you ready for an exciting program year with NSBE Jr. and Girls Who Code? This year we will play with tools such as Scratch, LittleBits, Arduino, AppLab, and HTML5/Javascript as we explore computer science and deliver a Computer Science Impact Project to drive improvement in our own community.

Our club will launch on Tuesday, September 18th at the Tri-County Urban League and will run on Tuesday nights from 5:30pm to 7:00pm through mid-May.

While Girls Who Code is geared toward bridging the gender gap in the tech sector, we understand that this may be the only coding exposure that male students in our community can get; so our club is open to young males to participate as well.

Our club size is limited to up to 20 participants, so in order to make participation open to all we will conduct a selection lottery. To considered for participation in this year's club term, please submit your club application at the following link: https://goo.gl/forms/0WAFojQMJyxU53Zg2

Lottery submission will close promptly at 6:00pm on Friday, 9/7/2018. Participants will be notified of selection by Wednesday, 9/12/2018.

For more information, please contact Xavier Horton at [email protected].

Good afternoon all.

Thank you to all of those who have signed up for the Black in the Day Trivia Night so far. Looks like we are about to have a fun competitive evening.

Its not too late sign up a team or register as an individual.

To sign up visit: https://blackintheday.eventbrite.com.

The Rundown
With DJ RL in the mix, networking will kick off at 6:00pm. This will be an opportunity for individual registrants to form teams.

At 7:15, we will run down the rules; and at 7:30, we'll officially kick off the night of trivia. We will run 8 rounds of 8 questions with breaks every two rounds. In the event of a tie, there will be sudden death round between the tied teams.

The Mulligan
The Mulligan can be a useful tool for your team. Mulligans are $5 each. They afford you the opportunity to submit two answers for a question (excluding true/false questions). If one of the two answers is correct you will receive points according to the confidence level submitted with your answer. If neither answer is correct, you will not lose any points for your submission.

Each team may purchase a maximum of 5 Mulligans. Mulligans can be purchased prior to the rules rundown and on breaks between rounds.

The Prizes
Winning team members will each receive a prize pack including gifts cards for dinner a and movie as well as shopping via Amazon.

Door prizes will be drawn through out the night.

Just want to support
Even you don't plan to participate, still come out to network and have a good time. CI-NSBE Professionals is a not for profit organization. You can support making a general donation on the Eventbrite page. Donations are tax-deductible and support our scholarship, STEM outreach, and mentoring programs for our collegiate and NSBE Jr membership

See you all on Thursday evening!

Do you think know all there is to know about Martin, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Living Single, In Living Color, and all of the other black 90's sitcoms we watched growing up? Assemble your squad!
