It is with extreme sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Scouting leader, Mr. Bob Masek.

Mr. Masek served as our church liaison and was an integral part of the founding of our Troop.

Within the first year, Mr. Masek earned the nickname "Santa" from all the girls. He was always full of joy and kind to everyone. It was a tradition at our annual Christmas Party for him to lead us in a rousing rendition of "Rusty Chevrolet".

But Mr. Masek didn't stop there. He handed out shovels on church clean-up day and motivated others to serve the Lord with cheerful hearts.

He was a champion of Scouting and regularly attended meetings. He was there as we honored our first female Eagle Scout from our Troop.

While we mourn his passing, we know that we will one day be united together again. We thank the Lord for all that He has done and we ask for His presence while we honor a life well-lived.

We will always remember the stories and the love Mr. Masek shared. His legacy will continue in the hearts of generations thanks to the time and love he gave.

What a fabulous meeting last night!

Our three Assistant Scoutmasters supported the scouts in accomplishing their goals.

Cold weather camping - Mr. Kravetz

Drug-free schools and scouts - Mr. Breidert

Drafting and designing the interior of our trailer - Mr. Staggs.

Mr. Blumenberg also gave an example of how to dress (and not dress) for this weekend’s big rock climbing campout.

The scouts also ran a mile and completed the second round of fitness tests with Mrs. Hartman.

We are so blessed to have such an amazing group of talented individuals dedicated to our Troop!

Our Troop met last night to do a little climbing prep ahead of this weekend's big campout at S Bar F.

The ladies climbed to new heights and continued to impress with their athleticism!

Eagle Scout builds playground for dogs, plus other news in Scouting this week

To prepare for last weekend’s camporee, each scout sewed their own pleated skirt and tam (hat).

A huge thanks to Lanora and her mom for hosting a fantastic event.

Lanora was so excited about this project she came to our Troop meeting with an educational PowerPoint and wore a sample to get the girl’s Scout Spirit going.

It was the best example of Scout led fun we have experienced to date. Great job, ladies!
