We plan to support the Peoria Art Guild's yarn bomb project by crocheting lots of 4 x 4" squares. Stop by the workshop First Friday, February 7, 2025 @ 5PM to "sit 'n stitch" your squares. Bring your crochet hooks and yarn - or make at least a $10 donation to the workshop for supplies and to borrow a hook. We will have a minimal amount of tutoring and mentoring available at that time, depending on attendance levels. Hey, you can collaborate and ask fellow stitchers to show you the loops. Stay tuned for an announcement about a basic crochet class soon. All are welcome to make squares with yarn & any looping techniques: knitting, tatting, you name it!

We’re thrilled to kick off an exciting community art project that brings creativity and collaboration to the streets of Peoria!
Here’s the plan:
🔹 What: Knit or crochet 4x4-inch squares that we’ll stitch together to cover a public sculpture.
🔹 Who: Everyone is welcome! Whether you’re a seasoned fiber artist or a beginner eager to try something new, we’ve got simple tutorials to help you get started.
🔹 Kickoff: January 8
🔹 Square Submission Deadline: February 22
🔹 Installation: The week following February 22
Need supplies? Visit the Peoria Art Guild at 203 Harrison Street during open hours to pick up free yarn and needles—or feel free to use your own materials if you prefer!
