The Village behind ! This weekend Foster Village Affiliates gathered to connect, share, and support each other and all the Foster Village nonprofits around the nation. Cheriz and Katie received a tour of ’s north location “The Perch” yesterday! Foster Village Inc. launched in Austin, Texas in 2016, but now there are 12 locations across 5 states!! Thankful for this village, as we navigate sustaining and growing Foster Village Peoria in our community! 🫶

Cheriz (Executive Director) and Katie (Resource Closet Coordinator) are flying to Austin, Texas for the annual retreat! Spending two days with all the other foster village affiliates to share ideas, get to know each other, and build a village of support! We can’t wait to share all about their trip. Hello! This is Cheriz, the Executive Director of Foster Village Peoria. I have been to this courthouse numerous times as a foster parent. Those were emotional days, always unsure of what will happen. Today I stand in front of this courthouse as a friend. This is the third adoption that I’ve been invited to (in the last six months) to support three different families that Foster Village Peoria served. Adoptions mean different things to different families, they can be full of sadness and brokenness, but also a relief and joy for permanency. Foster Village Peoria usually walks alongside families during their toughest times. Navigating loss, navigating hard feelings, and navigating chaos that the normal for us. But then days like today, we get to see permanency. It’s a privilege to walk alongside these families and see the joy, peace, and happiness. I feel extremely honored to be asked to attend, and even more lucky to have made so many friends. 🫶

☀️ ☁️ Our Summer Newsletter published and emailed out last night! Check out what has been happening at Foster Village Peoria!

Our Resource Closet had a record breaking month in new donations. April of 2026 we had over $5,441 worth of in-kind donations. The Resource Closet volunteer team has delivered over 100+ welcome bags in 2026.

The rain ☔️ didn’t put a damper on our Youth Connect Event at the Fon du Lac Farm Park! Families enjoyed a picnic lunch under the pavilion and then a nice stroll and play day at the farm park! Thank you to the Fond du Lac Farm Park for their help with this amazing event! Everyone had a blast! 🐄 🐖  🐓 (note: 📸 we only do photos with permission. When families sign-up, they can select if they are comfortable with photos or not). 🫶

Our next youth event is in August, keep your 👀 on our social media. The next youth connect event is going to be fantastic (🚲) —— anyone have a GUESS?
