Now that we have come to the end of our studies in this wonderful part of God's Word - salvation by grace through faith - may we never forget that its message is not a treasure to be kept for the enjoyment of Christians, but rather a trust to be shared with those who are not Christians. God help us never to forget that it declares to all men everywhere that "the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

Too long we have preached an " easy grace"! In our zeal to help sinners see that God is love and that his love has provided salvation free, full, and forever, we have failed to explain and exalt his absolute sovereignty. Our doing so has led sinners to doubt God's sovereignty and despise God's salvation. Man is not free to come to God on his own terms and in his own time. He must come to God on God's own terms and in God's own time. Israel forgot God's sovereignty and thereby forfeited God's salvation.

32. God's Righteousness and the Christian's Compassion:
Romans 16:1-27.
Christian consecration ( 12:1-2) that produces model church members (12:3-21), model citizens (13:1-14), moral consciences (14:1-23), and more Christ - likeness (15:1-13) brings the Christian marvelous comfort (15:14-32) that overflows in Christ - like compassion.

31. God's Righteousness and the Christian's Comfort:
Romans 15:14-33.
Christian consecration (12:1-2) that produces model church membership (12:3-21), model citizenship (13:1-14), moral consciousness (14:1-23), and more Christ - likeness (15:1-13) brings the Christian a wonderful comfort.

30. God's Righteousness and the Christian's Christ - likeness:
Romans 15:1-13.
What Paul is saying from chapter 12 and following is simply that Christians should be like Christ. Christ - like unselfishness and Christ - like unity result in the Christian - yea, the whole church - being filled with the pleasure (joy), peace, prospects (hope), and power of the Holy Ghost (vs.13).
God grant that we shall so yield our wills to the Holy Spirit that he may bring such a revival to our hearts that we shall become completely Christ - like!

29. God's Righteousness and the Christian's Conscience:
Romans 14:1-23.
Consecrated Christians are not only concerned about their church membership and their citizenship, but also about their own and others consciences. Unlike Cain (Gen.4:9), they feel that they are their brother's keeper.

28. God's Righteousness and the Christian's Citizenship:
Romans 13:1-14.
Consecration not only causes Christians to be good church members but also compels them to be good citizens. In modern history the average age of a nation has been two hundred years. The reason for failure usually is moral decay.

27. God's Righteousness and the Christian's Church:
Romans 12:3-21.
The power for consecration is spiritual (vs.3a); the purpose of consecration is service for Christ through his church. Verses 4 and 5 make it clear that Paul has Christ's church in mind here.

26. God's Righteousness and the Christian's Consecration:
Romans 12:1-2.
Paul now turns from the prophetical to the practical. He comes to deal with the Christian and his consecration. Consecration does not take the joy out of living, but rather puts joy into living - it is just normal for Christians.

25. God's Righteous Sovereignty and Israel's Restoration:
Romans 11:1-36.
Does the fact that Israel, as a nation, has forgotten God's sovereignty and forfeited God's salvation means that God's promises to their fathers have become null and void - that God is through with Israel as a nation? I believe that in this chapter Paul is saying that God yet plans to restore Israel as a nation.

24. God's Righteous Sovereignty and Israel's Redemption:
Romans 10:1-21.
What a price Israel paid for self - righteousness. Her forgetting God's sovereignty had caused her to forfeit God's sovereignty had caused her to forfeit God's salvation.

23. God's Righteous Sovereignty and Israel's Rejection:
Romans 9:1-33.
In this ninth chapter, we come face - to - face with the sovereignty of God. God's grace, as pictured in the preceding chapters, does not mean that man can compel a holy God to react to his whims and wishes, but rather that man moves according to the will of an omnipotent God. God is absolutely sovereign. Nowhere is this seen more truly and tragically than in the rejection of Israel as a nation.
