Hello CAPC! We are in the groove of the school year around the county and the littles are doing great so far. It's also World Beard Day, so we thought we'd share a photo of our very own Doug Brown, CAPC president and CEO along with our resident beardos on the staff that help keep the wheels moving.

And we are happy when dads show up for different enrichment with their kids, beards and all!

Happy Friday CAPC community! We hope everyone is in the groove as we near the end of the first full week of school. We also want to share news from the National Head Start Association as its tracking what changes may be coming to programs nationwide. This is who we take the lead from, and rest assured will always keep families up to date with information as it comes thorugh! Have a great weekend!

The proposed changes to the Head Start Program Performance Standards could have important implications for how programs support children with disabilities and developmental delays.

Head Start’s current standards help ensure children receive timely developmental screenings, referrals, and early intervention, while giving programs clear requirements for individualized services and inclusive learning environments.

NHSA’s latest Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) issue brief breaks down what’s at stake for children with disabilities, what the research tells us about early intervention, and why these standards matter for children and families.

Read the issue brief to learn more about the proposed changes and what they could mean for Head Start: https://nhsa.box.com/s/6xkc1sh7hxq4jo7qkeenftsztm4fb7eo

Hello CAPC community! We are super excited to share this news! Our partners at Community Health Northwest Florida have been awarded a massive 5 year grant to help ensure outlying areas get the medical care and support they need.

“This is truly a transformational opportunity for every rural patient in Northwest Florida,” said Chandra Smiley, MSW, Chief Executive Officer of Community Health Northwest Florida and chair of the Northwest Florida Health Council Board of Directors. “We will be able to provide care closer to where our patients live, and also help keep them out of emergency rooms. It will improve lives, save lives, and save money in the process.”

More community means more family getting what they need! ❤️🚑👩‍🔬

Community Health has $3.9 million to spend in year one of the five-year grant that will greatly expand care where rural residents need it most.
