Joe Vinson, local historian, will be the guest speaker at Cordova Rotary Club this Thursday! Joe is a wealth of knowledge in all things Pensacola. He created Pensapedia in 2006 and frequently creates engaging videos with a wide range of topics from the Old Chimney on Scenic Highway to Veterans Memorial Park in Downtown Pensacola.

For 38 years, Shark Week has mesmerized viewers via the Discovery Channel!

This week, Cordova Rotary is pleased to welcome Dr. Ben Abo.

Dr. Abo recently served as chief medical director and risk manager for the series “All the Sharks”, a competing Netflix series.

Dr. Abo is the Escambia Co. Public Safety Director, is an EMS physician, and venom & wilderness expert.

A couple weeks ago, Pensacola Cordova Rotary had the pleasure of welcoming Pensacola Mayor DC Reeves for an outstanding presentation.

Over the past several years, Mayor Reeves has helped drive incredible momentum throughout our city. From securing major events like SailGP, to advancing transformative improvements at Pensacola International Airport, to attracting exciting opportunities and investments that continue to elevate Pensacola's profile, the city has experienced remarkable growth and progress.

These are just a few examples of the positive impact being made, and the work is far from over. Mayor Reeves shared the successes Pensacola has already achieved, the projects currently underway, and the exciting vision for what's ahead. It was a fantastic opportunity to hear firsthand about the continued progress shaping the future of our city.

Since 1981, Habitat for Humanity has built over 1,700 homes in the Escambia and Santa Rosa County areas. They help families find strength, stability, and self reliance. President and CEO, Sam Young will provide some great information this Thursday! Sam was recently recognized as the Ethics in Business Award Winner this past month.

Cordova Rotary welcomed District 4 County Commissioner Ashlee Hofberger yesterday morning for an outstanding discussion on the continued growth and transformation happening across Pensacola. Ashlee spoke incredibly well on the positive impact these changes are having on our community, highlighting her focus on local economic development and long-term progress for the area.

Elected in November 2024, Ashlee is an entrepreneur, alumna of the University of West Florida, and has deep roots in Pensacola alongside her family. We appreciate her time, insight, and leadership.

A big thank you to Eric Winstrom, Chief of Police for the City of Pensacola, for taking the time to speak with us this morning! We truly appreciate your insight, leadership, and engaging presentation!

On March 2nd, Chief Winstrom became the new Police Chief for the City of Pensacola. He stepped into the role after serving as Chief of the Grand Rapids Police Department and completing a distinguished 21-year career with the Chicago Police Department. As he shared, “Trust is a key component not only of leadership within a police department but also between the department and the community it serves.”

If you missed it, you’ll definitely want to attend future events like this at Gulf Coast Kids House—great speakers and even better conversations.
