In a lively and enlightening presentation yesterday, Adana Elder, owner of Mathnasium of Pensacola, described the mission of her organization as building "a foundation for math mastery through deep understanding by starting with what students already know, addressing learning gaps, expanding their mathematical thinking, and adding new concepts in sequence."
"Math isn't only about numbers," she emphasized. "It's about brain development--focus, memory, planning and adaptability--and developing greater resilience, patience, and perseverance."
