Gulf Coast Kid's House Gulf Coast Kid's House is a not-for-profit children's advocacy center serving child victims of abuse.

The partner agencies located within GCKH that work together to provide a more unified and comprehensive response to children suspected of having been abused include:
• Law Enforcement – Investigate allegations of child abuse (Escambia County Sherriff’s Office & Pensacola Police Department)
• Department of Children and Families, Protective Investigators – Investigate allegations of child abuse
• Families Count, Department of Health, Child Protection Team – Provide medical and psychological evaluations for children who are identified as victims of abuse, specialized interviews and referral services
• Office of the State Attorney – Receive information from investigative teams and determine whether laws were broken based on the evidence. File charges against the alleged offender, interview children and families as well as any witnesses and prosecute the alleged offender
• Lutheran Services Florida- Provide therapy for child victims, siblings and non-offending family members
• The family and victim advocates within GCKH are employed directly through GCKH, a local not-for-profit (Families Count) and through the State Attorney’s Office. These advocates educate the family of the investigation and prosecution process and work with the family throughout the case to identify needs and provide resources and referral services. Welcome our new Social Media & Marketing Coordinator, Ginny Abbott 📸✨

Ginny is a multimedia specialist with her Bachelor of Arts in Creative Media & Dance from the University of Alabama. She recently moved to Pensacola after getting married to her husband, Garrett. She has worked for digital publications as well as muti-camera productions. She loves using her creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration skills to serve & bless others.

Hobbies & Interests:
Being a former dancer, Ginny still loves to dance and is trained in ballet and contemporary! She enjoys going to concerts, football games, and dance performances. On the day-to-day, she loves exercising, watching well-shot movies & TV shows, cooking new recipes, and relaxing on her front porch or at the beach.

Sarah Gatewood, Board Member

Sarah (Sr. Communications Manager, Florida Power & Light Company) was born and raised in nearby Milton, Sarah is thrilled to have the opportunity to raise her own family here in the Panhandle. She's a proud FSU graduate, with a career in public relations for several organizations over the last 20 years. Sarah has spent the last decade supporting marketing and communications efforts for Florida Power & Light Company, which provided her the opportunity to return to Northwest Florida with her husband and their three children.

How were you introduced to GCKH?
"When I moved back to the Pensacola area, I was looking for a way to become more involved in the local community and was introduced to Gulf Coast Kid's House. I was so moved to learn about the life-changing support given to children through the House and have absolutely loved being a part of the Board to protect and encourage children in our region."

What's the most recent book you've read?
"Let's Call Her Barbie" by Renee Rosen - I had no idea the history of Barbie, and it was a fun and interesting read!"

Best advice someone has given you?
"To give grace to all - you never know what someone else is going through and how that affects their actions at a given moment."

We believe every therapy space should feel safe, comfortable, and calming🤍

We recently renovated our group therapy room to better support individuals on their healing journey. With a more versatile space, cozy chairs, and some upgraded therapy tools, we're excited to welcome those we serve into our new favorite room at GCKH.

A huge thank you to Carpet Creations for generously donating and installing the beautiful new flooring in this space! We'd also like to thank Blu Salmon for the furniture and the Chadbourne Foundation.
