UWF’s Latina-Founded Sorority
In Spring 2016, Deni Avelar and Miranda Anaya were inspired to look into bringing a new sorority to the University of West Florida that would embrace the Latinx culture. After much research, they decided that Kappa Delta Chi was the best fit for themselves and for UWF.
Together, they would continue to work hard and accrue awards through the university and from other student organizations including the top 2 awards granted by UWF Fraternity and Sorority Life: 5-Star Chapter in Fraternal Excellence and Greek Cup.
On September 1, 2018, the colony was inducted as the Beta Psi Chapter of Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc. to continue promoting unity, honesty, integrity, and leadership at the University of West Florida.
