At the recent Studer Institute session on “Leadership in the Workplace”, we asked the 310 individuals in attendance to take a follow-up survey to tell us the most important professional development session we could provide. Over 80% of the responses were Strategic Planning. This isn’t surprising. I have found in my work that often not-for-profit organizations and small businesses struggle in the strategic planning process. This can range from lacking a strategic plan entirely, to having one that is too cumbersome to execute.
With that in mind, Studer Institute is excited to announce its next workshop, “A Strategic Planning Model for Small Businesses and Non-Profits” led by Lynne Cunningham. Lynne is a national expert in strategic planning from Sacramento, California, with over 30 years of experience in the business. The full day workshop will be held November 14th, 2014 at Hillcrest Baptist Church.
After attending this workshop, you will leave with a full understanding of the strategic planning process. Specifics include:
• Development of an action plan to prepare your organization to reach desired outcomes.
• A case study presented by Stacey Kostevicki, Executive Director of Gulf Coast Kid’s House, on how this model was used effectively to engage their Board in the planning process.
• How to develop a real strategic plan.
Who should attend?
• Not for Profit Board of Directors either individually or as a group
• Small business owners
• Any small business or not-for-profit, supervisor, manager or executive director
• Anyone directly involved in the strategic planning process
