ECPS School Choice Expo to be Held on Thursday, October 29, 2026!

This year’s School Choice Expo will be held on Thursday, October 29, from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Booker T. Washington High School.

Representatives from ECPS Career Academies and Choice Schools will be on hand to greet guests and answer questions about their programs. Typically, the Expo welcomes in excess of 1,000 guests. Tables for career academy displays will be set up inside the Booker T. Washington High School gym and cafeteria. Local vendors will provide items for gift bags for attendees.

“The school district is excited to once again be offering our School Choice Expo to the community,” stated Coordinator of Enrollment Services Chris McFarland. “This is a great opportunity for our students to experience all of the awesome programs and school choice transfer options available to our students in one venue. We look forward to once again seeing everyone there!”

The School Choice Expo coincides with the middle and high school open enrollment period, which runs from October 26 - December 4, 2026. The open enrollment period for elementary schools begins January 25, 2026.

Families are encouraged to apply while attending the School Choice Expo, as technology to apply will be made available.

Escambia County schools to remain closed until Monday

ECPS campuses and offices will remain closed on Tuesday, October 13, as district personnel and contractors are actively making repairs and mitigating damage across our campuses.

We are working closely with local utilities to re-establish vital services to our campuses.

Transportation officials are working to ensure all bus routes can be run safely.

ECPS will continue to provide updates via Focus Communications, social media, and local media outlets. As always, the safety of our students, their families, our employees and this community remains our top priority.
