Escarosa Beekeepers Association

Escarosa Beekeepers Association Monthly Educational meetings on Best Beekeeping Practices every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7pm! Hosted at the UF IFAS Extension Office on Stefani Road.

The Escarosa Beekeepers Association is an nonprofit Sub-Chapter of the Florida State Beekeepers Association established to help area beekeepers. We are comprised of individuals and families, young and old, who share an interest in beekeeping, pollination, honey production, and other products of the beehive. Keeping abreast of the latest information on beekeeping, we assist in controlling the sprea

d of honeybee diseases, parasites, pests and potential Africanization. Sharing ideas and improved methods of management, we inform the public as to the value of honey and the importance of honey bees as pollinators, thereby elevating beekeeping to a place of eminence in the Agricultural Industry. Our club activities include:

Educating club members to improve beekeeping skills. Providing Beekeeping Demonstrations for schools and other organizations interested in beekeeping. Maintaining a Honeybee Exhibit at the Annual Pensacola Interstate Fair, Agriculture Building. The honey we harvest is available for sale during the exhibit. Making the general public aware of the impending arrival of the Africanized Honeybee to our area. We emphasize the beekeepers role in their control. Conducting an Annual Beekeepers Workshop in cooperation with
Escambia County Extension Service during the Month of September.

🐝 March Meeting 🌱

At our monthly meeting for March, we went over what we are seeing in our hives and best practices on how to keep our bees for the coming month!

We also shared the importance of No Mow March! So if you want to help out the community & feed all important pollinators, let's practice No Mow March and let their food grow.

Lastly, our Buyer's Club recieved their woodware and treatment orders so we had a mini Woodware Workshop helping members learn how to put together their new woodware.

Join us for our next meeting, April 14th at 7pm for next month's steps on beekeeping!

And if you haven't yet signed up for our May Workshop, now is the time to put it on your calendar! It will be a great event and hope to see everyone there 🐝🍯
