Rotarians and friends were at work today for SubWest's monthly dinner prep at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida. The menu? Oven roasted drumsticks, a dinner pasta salad, baked beans, and a beautiful cut fruit tray.

At last week's SubWest Rotary meeting, President Elect, Jim Marks, installed Scott Schroeder asva new member of SubWest. Welcome Scott!

Our speaker was Mark Faulkner, who provided some updates on Baptist Health Care. They donated the former 51-acre "E" Street campus, to the City of Pensacola. In addition, they gave the City six million dollars, which the City, along with the State, used to abate and remove asbestos. The demolition of that campus has begun, and the projected future is 200 housing units. The units will be for an affordable workforce and senior housing. Overall, the new BHC campus (33 months since move-in) on Brent Lane at I-110 is doing extremely well.

Join us this Thursday for lunch, Rotary fellowship and to hear an update on the Bettaway Learning Center from Stacey Rising's recent trip to South Africa.

This past Thursday we heard from Chris Heany and Paige Marcin from Studer Community Institute were our speakers. Paige gave us great info on the Building Better Brains program and Chris informed us of all the workforce development projects they are involved in from Entrecon to the Venture Mentoring Service.

Join us at next week's meeting to hear an update on Baptist Hospital from president, Mark Faulkner.

We had the biggest group all year this Sunday at our monthly service project cooking dinner at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida. Thank you to Alyson Holt for planning the meal, shopping for the groceries and organizing all of us. Catching up with fellow club members while preparing the food was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
