Ava brings the world to The Global Corner 😉

A big thank you to Ava for spending part of her summer volunteering with us at The Global Corner! This kind and eager high school student has been helping with office tasks and took on one especially fun project: putting together our new wooden world map! 🌎

This beautiful piece was generously donated by friends of The Global Corner, and we can't imagine a better fit for our office walls. As we worked our way across continents and oceans, the project turned into a mini geography lesson of its own.

Thank you to our generous donors and thank you, Ava, for making our summer a little brighter.

✨ It’s a wrap! ✨

We officially closed out our school year by bringing our Passport to Morocco program to Berryhill Elementary School! What a joyful way to end a year full of cultural discovery, curiosity, laughter, and global learning. 🌍❤️

In this video, our students are learning how to ululate. Ululations are traditional Moroccan expressions of excitement and celebration often heard at weddings and joyful gatherings. Their energy, enthusiasm, and brave participation say it all! 🎉

As our school year comes to a close, we are so grateful for every student, teacher, volunteer, donor, and supporter who made this year possible. Thank you for helping us bring the world into local classrooms and inspire the next generation of global citizens.

Now… let the celebrations begin!

What a wonderful evening at Bands on the Bayou 🎶

We are so thankful to everyone who came out, stopped by our table, shared conversations with us, and supported The Global Corner. Seeing our community come together in support of cultural education means so much to us.

Events like these help make it possible for us to continue bringing meaningful global experiences into elementary classrooms and inspiring students to learn about the world around them.

✨ Student Essay Contest Winner 🌍 Sponsored by Vowells Printing ✨

Every year, students from across our Passport Program classrooms submit heartfelt essays titled “Why I Love The Global Corner’s Passport Program.” This year’s essays reflected their incredible journey to Morocco… all without ever leaving their classroom.

After careful review by a jury using rigorous judging criteria, we are so proud to announce this year’s winning essay, written by a talented 4th grade student from Molino Park Elementary School!

Our winner and her teacher were honored at The Global Corner’s Annual Explorers’ Luncheon 2026, where she bravely shared her essay in front of a large audience. Both the student and teacher received a $100 gift card in recognition of their outstanding work. We couldn’t be more proud of her thoughtful writing, creativity, and courage.

We are beyond excited to share that acclaimed local artist Reese Forêt will be creating a live painting during The Global Corner’s Annual Explorers’ Luncheon on May 20 at the Pensacola Yacht Club!

Known for her imaginative ReeseCycledArt and her beautiful use of mixed media, collage, watercolor, acrylic, and oil, Reese creates deeply meaningful works inspired by nature, memory, water, animals, and the beauty of revisiting ideas from the past in new ways. A Gulf Breeze artist and Auburn University Fine Arts graduate, Reese brings creativity, heart, and storytelling into every piece she creates.

Guests will have the rare opportunity to watch an original artwork come to life throughout the luncheon, and the finished piece will then be auctioned off during our silent auction. But this painting may hold more than meets the eye… We have a very special reveal planned that you won’t want to miss.
