Hurricanes. Sally was a surprise last year, that’s for sure! Today we are praying against hurricanes. This has always been a cornerstone prayer at Pray for Pensacola. Winds rises up off the coast of Africa and travel all the way across the ocean. But the winds and the waves know His name. They are His creation. They must submit to Him. They must stop and cease when we speak His name over it all. So we pray against hurricanes. We pray the winds die in the ocean. We pray that Pensacola, and all of our Gulf and Atlantic coastlines in the US, are not touched by hurricanes. We pray for protection. We speak the name of Jesus over every wind and natural element. We pray that the winds and waves make peace on our coasts.
And, we pray for those who have lost everything. We pray for renewed strength. We pray for a return on their money. We also pray for the reconstruction of our bridge to Gulf Breeze. We pray it is built quickly and stronger than before.

“Now on one of those days Jesus and His disciples got into a boat, and He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side of the lake (Sea of Galilee).” So they set out. But as they were sailing, He fell asleep. And a fierce gale of wind swept down [as if through a wind tunnel] on the lake, and they began to be swamped, and were in great danger. They came to Jesus and woke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are about to die!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging, violent waves, and they ceased, and it became calm [a perfect peacefulness]. And He said to them, “Where is your faith [your confidence in Me]?” They were afraid and astonished, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that He commands even the winds and the sea, and they obey Him?””

In 2008 an incredible group of about 600 people from 85 different churches came together by signing up online and makingy a decision to fast and pray 40 days for our city, Pensacola. We were a group from many different churches and many different backgrounds. Today that number has grown significantly!

We are less than 24 hours out until we start 40 days of prayer and fasting again! Let’s take this time to feast on the word of God instead of our favorite foods and spend more time in prayer!

We posted a calendar a few days ago about the specific things we will be praying for each day, but will post daily on each topic too.

Get excited everyone! Let’s humble ourselves, repent of our sins and seek God’s face during this time. The power of prayer and fasting has the ability to break chains!! Let’s be intentional the next for 40 and we will see change in our city!

Good Morning Pray for Pensacola and Happy Dr Martin Luther King Jr Day!

Today, let’s not only remember the amazing work of Dr MLK Jr, but let’s continue to live out his dream as a unified body of Christ. To come together on one accord does not always come without opposition, but it’s very necessary if we are to live as brothers and sisters in kingdom of God. The beautiful thing about God is that He created us all so different but in those differences, He also created us to work in unity. Ephesians 6:12 states that “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.” The opposite of unity is division. Satan loves nothing more than to have division throughout the entire earth - in families, in work places, our communities, on social media and especially within the church - but in 2021, we won’t stand for his tactics or foolery any longer!

As we get ready to prepare for 40 days of prayer and fasting (starts January 24th 12am) let’s posture ourselves before God to seek His face, with an attitude of humility and repentance, and fight this spiritual battle next to one another (not against each other). Let’s put God in the rightful place as Lord over our lives and let’s fight against everything that the enemy has been throwing at us!!!

God, as the body of Christ we repent of putting anything or anyone before You and we are taking this time of fasting and prayer to turn our hearts back to You. As we come before You God, allow us to starve our flesh so that we can be filled with the Holy Spirit and operate as such.

This time of prayer and fasting is so much more than just taking a break from social media or your favorite meals and snacks. It is imperative that we are in agreement with saying NO to our flesh and YES to God! To join us, please sign up on our page Pray for Pensacola. Happy New Year Pensacola!!! Good bye 2020 and hello 2021!!

We are so glad that God has brought us into a new year! Although 2020 was an interesting year to say the least, aren’t you excited to see what God has in store for 2021? 🥰

Let’s continue to be on ONE accord with prayer, fasting and repentance for our city! There is so much I store for Pensacola this year and we are so excited to be a part of it! What an honor and a privilege we have, to be a part of an amazing community of prayer warriors and believers! Let’s keep our focus on God and trust that what He started in Pensacola, will definitely come to pass!

Also be on the look out for more information about our 40 days prayer and fasting that is coming up on January 25th. We are so excited to partner with you again and bombard Heaven with your prayers! We can not wait!!
