Dr. Diane Buck: Established Intercultural Connections in Marbella, Spain, and guided numerous delegations to Pensacola throughour Sister Cities relationship with Macharaviaya (birthplace of GEN Bernardo de Gálvez)and Borobia/Soria (birthplace of Tristán de Luna). She has met 3 of Pensacola’s mayors, and made countless friends who have enjoyed extensive interactive travel with her leadership.
Sadly, she died on July 4, in Marbella, her beloved second home beside the sea.

Dr. Diane Buck

We regret to announce:

Dr. Diane Buck has been our international guide during our Sister Cities travels since the inception of the Sister Cities relationship with Macharaviaya, Spain. She accompanied Mayor Antonio Campos and the Spanish delegations in every visit from Macharaviya and other delegates from the Axarquía (municipalities) of the area near Malaga. She traveled across the panhandle for GEN Bernardo de Gálvez from Pensacola to Mobile, New Orleans, San Antonio, Houston, and Galveston.

sends this sad news.

Our “Diana” has died. Her daughter, Diani, shares the sadness. She died peacefully in Marbella, where she has a lovely waterfront home, on July 4-what could be more significant for all of us, as she and María are figures of our memories of the linking between the two countries they both love. She had an aggressive cancer, and Dani says she was her smiling vibrant self, and her family was with her. Services will be held July 11 in Marbella. A future occasion will be organized. My heart is torn, wishing I had embraced her one more time.
