Celebrating 4 Years of Impact! 🎉
Four years ago, MINA began with a simple belief: every entrepreneur and family deserves fair access to capital, knowledge, and opportunity.

We’re proud to celebrate what our community has built together:
✅ 88 microloans totaling $249,600
✅ 202 loan applications referred, totaling over $27.7 million
✅ 1,883 entrepreneurs and families assisted
✅ 28,220+ hours of technical assistance delivered

And we’re entering an exciting new chapter: MINA is relocating its headquarters to 1600 Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City! 🏢 This move brings our full ecosystem of lending, leadership development, workforce training, and community programs under one roof, closer to the communities we serve across Atlantic County and South Jersey. Our Pennsauken office will continue serving clients as a branch location.

None of this would be possible without the 43 volunteer professionals who have generously given their time and talent, and without our partners, board members, and the clients who trust us with their dreams.

What a night! 🎉

MINA joined the community in Pleasantville, NJ for the Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration, part of Common Ground Economic Development Corporation's monthly "Last Wednesday" networking series.

The room was full of music, flavor, culture, and the kind of real connection that builds stronger communities. Flags from across Latin America lined the walls, small business owners shared their stories and products, and neighbors became partners.

A special thank you to our dear Celeste Fernandez, whose work with Community Connect Economic Development was in the spotlight, and to Rodrick Green and the entire Common Ground team for creating a space where culture and economic opportunity meet. Common Good. Common People. Common Ground. 💚

We were proud to stand alongside our fellow sponsors: La Casa Dominicana – The Dominican Home NJ, El Rincón del Sabor Mexican Food, Spanish Community Center, ACADOBOM – Academia Dominicana de Bomberos, and Yvette Soto Management / Worldwide Entertainment Enterprises.

Five Dreams, One Community, and a Partner Who Believes in Camden.

On Monday, September 28, 2026, MINA celebrated another milestone: a new group loan was funded for five Camden entrepreneurs through our strategic partnership with FINANTA.

Each of these entrepreneurs came to us with a clear intention: to build something that lasts. Some want to grow a business they have already started with their own hands. Others want to turn years of skill and hard work into a steady income for their families. All of them share the same purpose: to create opportunities where they live, and to show their children and neighbors what is possible.

A group loan is more than financing. It is a circle of trust. These five members have committed to support one another, celebrate each other's progress, and grow together. That is the heart of community lending, and it is what makes Camden strong.

To our new borrowers: we see your courage, your discipline, and your vision. Today is not the finish line; it is the beginning. MINA will walk with you every step of the way with training, technical assistance, and encouragement.

El lunes 28 de septiembre de 2026, MINA celebró un nuevo logro: se otorgó un préstamo grupal a cinco emprendedores de Camden, gracias a nuestra alianza estratégica con FINANTA.

Cada uno de estos emprendedores llegó a nosotros con una intención clara: construir algo que perdure. Algunos desean hacer crecer un negocio que ya iniciaron con sus propias manos. Otros quieren convertir años de experiencia y esfuerzo en un ingreso estable para sus familias. Todos comparten el mismo propósito: crear oportunidades donde viven y mostrarles a sus hijos y vecinos lo que es posible.

Un préstamo grupal es mucho más que financiamiento. Es un círculo de confianza. Estos cinco miembros se han comprometido a apoyarse mutuamente, celebrar los logros de cada uno y crecer juntos. Ese es el corazón de los préstamos comunitarios, y eso es lo que hace fuerte a Camden.

The entire MINA family is beyond proud to celebrate our friend and champion, Alfonso Nicholas, on his appointment as Deputy Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Children and Families!

For over 30 years, Alfonso has poured his heart into public service. From his roots at NJ DCF, to leading federal strategic initiatives across Region 2 with HHS/ACF, touching the lives of families in New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and beyond. Through every chapter, one thing has never changed: his unwavering commitment to lifting underserved and underrepresented communities.

Alfonso doesn't just lead. He builds bridges. His gift for strengthening collaboration across states, territories, Tribal Nations, and federal partners has left a lasting mark on the systems meant to protect and empower our most vulnerable families. That same spirit of partnership and heart for community is what makes him such a treasured friend to MINA.

As he returns home to New Jersey DCF this Monday, July 13th, to continue transforming child welfare into our state, we know countless families will be stronger because he's back at the table.
