Thank you to all who attended our Young Eagles Event on June 6th. We had the privilege of flying 133 youths! We so enjoyed getting to see a spark of interest appear in the eyes of youths who were flying for the first time and getting to nurture a fondness for aviation in those who are already determined to become pilots. Thank you to all the pilots who donated their fuel and use of their planes and to all the ushers and ground volunteers who, in addition to the pilots, donated their time and effort to make this free event happen. We also appreciate the Pendleton Public Library and the Pendleton National Guard for making our event special.
If you know a youth who couldn't make it to the event or would simply like to fly again, check with us in late August, at which time we'll be hosting another Young Eagles' Day. Also consider checking out https://eaachapters.org to see events put on by other chapters in your local area.
If you'd like to donate to keep events like this possible, we would so appreciate it, https://account.venmo.com/u/eaa219 .
Below is a time lapse showing families walking out to planes and planes taxiing as well as exploring the Chinook that the National Guard brought.
