Happy International Women's Day 💖💖💖

Yoga is power. Yoga is freedom. Yoga is for all women.

Yoga teaches us that true freedom Moksha is collective. We get free together and none of us are free until we all are.

Ahimsa non-harm calls us to move for justice, care, and dignity for all. Acknowledging too that labels are limited and may not fully represent us. That from some yogic POV’s we are all divine and beyond gender.
Shakti invited us to feel how power exists in all bodies, all identities, all experiences.
Satya truth inspires us to honor the voices and wisdom of all women, especially those forgotten or intentionally invisibilized.
Knowing that many wisdom traditions, like yoga, we owe to forgotten women who carried them down so we can practice to find freedom today.

On this International Women’s Day, we are not perfect, and don’t aspire to be, we do not forget. We celebrate women in all our messy creative wonderful expressions and forms and access to yoga as a path to healing, resistance, and collective liberation.

March Blessings 🌷

Yung Pueblo, poet and author, begins his book inward with this insightful passage,

“two of the great lessons humanity will learn in the 21st century will be:

to harm another is to harm oneself

when you heal yourself, you heal the world”

The Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) people hold an ancient philosophy known as the The Seventh Generation Principle. This principle suggests that the decisions we make today should result in a sustainable world seven generations into the future. This philosophy tells us that it is our responsibility to live sustainably and in such a way that future generations can live on a better Earth than we did. There is no time to wait, as the humans seven generations from now are relying on us to make the world better not just for them, but for ourselves. We have a duty. To ourselves. To the Earth. To our children. To those who came before. And to those who will come after. We have a duty to each other to create safety, harmony, community, and love. When we do things to help each other, to see things from another perspective, become tolerant of differences, and take time to understand those around us, we become one step closer to healing the world. And yet, to begin healing the world, you must first begin the healing within.
