As we close out the 2026 conference, we want to share how you can get involved!

We cannot thank you all enough for all the LOVE you have shared.

We have quite a few parents and students reaching out wondering how they can get involved.

✨ Email Dr. Leslie Locklear ([email protected]) and she can add you to her listserv!
✨ Age Range: Rising 9th graders to graduating seniors!
✨ Students can attend our monthly meetings (additional details will be released on our social media, via email and website - ncnayo.weebly.com). Meetings are held in various communities once a month on a Saturday from 11-3pm.
✨ Students can participate in NCNAYO as part of a youth group or student organization at their high school OR they can attend as an individual.
✨ Our annual conference is held each year at a different university. Registration is $200 and usually due the first week of April. If students do not have a group or chaperone, no worries, we can assign them one! Can't afford to attend? We always have sponsorships!

We WANT you involved. Please reach out with any questions!

Check out this amazing opportunity!

Are you interested in science, watershed protection, or a career in urban/water management? EarthEcho International invites individuals ages 14–22 based in the US, Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands, to apply for the Water Challenge Ambassador Program! This hands-on professional learning experience is designed to introduce participants to water quality testing and monitoring, explore the challenges and barriers to clean water access, and use their findings to develop and implement community-based solutions that protect and improve local water resources.

Over the course of the 9-month program, Ambassadors will:

πŸ‘‰ Participate in monthly virtual meetings and training opportunities.

πŸ‘‰ Personally test the water quality of local bodies of water.

πŸ‘‰ Organize water-improvement projects in their home communities.

πŸ‘‰ Build a network of peers and industry professionals.

This program is specifically structured as an introductory program that requires no previous coursework or experience in freshwater or ocean science. This is a chance for participants to get their β€œhands wet” with watershed protection, meet like-minded peers, and start to build out professional skills and expertise!

To learn more and apply, visit monitorwater.org/apply. Applications are due by June 30th.
