🎣 IT’S TOURNAMENT DAY! 🎣

The New River Big Fish Tournament is back this weekend, and we’d love to see some new faces join us on the water!

Fishing starts today at 5:00 PM and runs through Sunday at 5:00 PM. Whether you’ve fished every tournament with us or you’ve been thinking about giving it a try, this is a great weekend to jump in.

We’ll be at the Pembroke Police Department starting at 4:00 PM taking registrations and handing out tournament markers. We’ll be cutting sign-ups off around 7:00 PM tonight, so make sure you get by and get registered before then!

📏 Bump boards are required for all submissions, with the fish’s nose clearly against the ZERO mark/vertical stop

Grab your gear, call your buddies, and come fish with us this weekend. It only takes one fish to put your name at the top of the leaderboard!

I can’t believe the amount of people that showed up for National Night Out last Tuesday. We had so much fun from face painting, to the dunking booth, eating pizza, popsicles, and I think everyone, even the adults loved the FOAM PARTY!! Our community showed up and supported all of our first responders. We are becoming more and more like family. We thank everyone for coming down and we hope everyone had a wonderful time. A big thanks to Lindsea Ray for the beautiful balloon arch she did for the fire department. We are already planning for next year!! 🚒🚓🚑

I want to thank all of our donors that supported us in our National Night Out event. We greatly appreciate each and everyone of you that donated. If you are out and about thank these businesses and people for their contributions. Without them the foam party would not have happened.

Don’t forget to come down to the Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department this evening from 4-8 and grab yourself some hotdogs for dinner and get your car washed. It’s for a good cause… we are trying to finish raising money for the Big Foam Party and for other things for the kids for National Night Out on August 4th. I know this is short notice but I know our community can come together and help us out. We are going to have a car wash, bake sale, and hotdog dinner Friday July 31st from 4-8. The funds are going to help pay for the foam party and help with other things for the event for National Night Out that is coming up on August 4th. We are really looking forward for our first ever National Night Out and we want this to be extra special for the kids and our community. I can’t express enough thanks to the businesses that have donated to help with the event coming up next week. So please everyone come down this Friday and grab you a hotdog or two for dinner. We also will be having fries, nachos, drinks, brownies, cookies, preacher cookies, fudge, Rice Krispies treats and who knows what else. You won’t be disappointed I promise!! Once again thank you all for your continued support to your local fire department and police department!! 🚒🚓🌭🍟🍪

We are so excited for this event. This is our first National Night Out in Pembroke and I always say go big or go home. We are so thankful for the businesses and the community that support us. We can’t wait to see the kids faces and who am I kidding I can’t wait to see all that foam 🫧🫧🫧😛. Don’t forget to bring your items to pack the police cruiser and the fire trailer. We will have pizza, sno cones, popcorn, and cotton candy, and water all for free. Lots of games, kickball, a dunking booth, and lots more. Bring your kids for a fun filled evening. 🚒🚓🍧🍿🍕

Collecting donations? Well… let’s just say the Chief quickly realized she needed to call in some reinforcements.

🚒🚒🚒Enter Mrs. Kim Niece—better known to many as the Fire Chief’s better half.

☎️☎️☎️Kim has been making phone calls, visiting businesses, and rallying support like she’s on a full-time mission. Once Kim gets an idea in her head, there’s really only one possible outcome.

So we’re excited to officially announce that there WILL be a Foam Party for the kids during National Night Out August 4, 2026 at Pembroke Park at Treasure Island! 🫧🎉

Thanks to the incredible generosity of local businesses and community members—primarily from the eastern side of Giles County and throughout Pembroke—this exciting addition is becoming a reality. A huge thank you goes out to donors including Little Giants, Tangent, Super Val-U, Kinos, Aces Auto, the Ruritan Club in Pembroke, Kendall Funeral Home, and Atkins Equipment, along with many others who stepped up to support this event. (And if your business hasn’t heard from Kim yet… don’t get too comfortable. 😄)

🫧🫧🫧While the kids are enjoying the foam party, the Pembroke Police Department and the Pembroke Fire Department will be collecting donations for our local schools through our Pack the Cruiser campaign and Pack the Fire Trailer campaign. Items needed will be in a follow up pinned post for ease of viewings.

And it gets even better…

🍕 The Pembroke Fire Department has generously offered to provide FREE pizza for everyone attending!

Now, with all of that happening, the Police Department’s planning committee refuses to be outdone… but we’re currently in a holding pattern until Kim finally runs out of energy.

…We’re not convinced that’s ever going to happen.
