Canadian John Martin, and American Jackson Stein, will be returning to the Pembroke Library for another evening of truly great traditional songs of the sea. John has performed all over Maritime Canda for many years, while Jackson, now living in Washington County, learned chanteying while living in New Orleans. Admission is by Donation.

The series, which includes titles like The Body in the Garden and Silence in the Library, blends Regency-era scandal, gossip, and murder with a compelling mystery.

The library is pleased to announce the receipt of a new fundraiser. Members of Ironworks Quilters, Bonnie Hunter and Marilyn Wimmergren, delivered a new raffle quilt "Days Gone By," made using 1930s reproduction fabrics. Made by the group's members, it measures 72" x 72."

Tickets are available at the desk; 1/$1 or 6/$5. The drawing will be held in January 2027.

The May book selection for Biscuits and Books is, "How to Read a Book" by Monica Wood. This highly recommended club novel is an unsparingly honest and profoundly hopeful story about forgiveness, letting go of guilt, seizing second chances and the power of books to change our lives.
