Operation You Matter, Inc To provide youth with a safe space to use creativity as a means for
their own mental health awareness The third program is grief and depression awareness.

My vision for Operation You Matter is to bring mental health and su***de awareness to teens and help them create a better everyday life. It is my mission to provide youth with a safe space to use creativity as a means for their own mental health awareness. I intend to make an impact by implementing 3 different programs in as many middle and high schools as I can as well as churches, camps, etc. Th

e first program is therapeutic art sessions which will improve communication and concentration and can help reduce feelings of isolation. Students will have the opportunity to express themselves through art and become aware of their own mental health. The second program is Mental health education which is one of the best ways to increase awareness, empower students to recognize signs in themselves and their peers, seek help, and reduce the stigma associated with mental health. The loss of a loved one is life’s most stressful event and can cause a major emotional crisis especially in teens. It is important for students to be able to recognize the signs of depression in themselves after a loss. When a student is grieving they must have a safe space at school where they can be supported and heard during one of the most difficult times of their lives.
