This week, May 17th - 23rd is EMS week. This week we want to recognize the Drivers, EMR's, EMT's, AEMT's, and Paramedics that make up our crews. We work together to help serve our communities and patients each and every day. These staff members sacrifice hundreds of hours of their time to make our organization operate.

This year's theme for EMS week is "Improving Outcomes Together" and on this first day of EMS week I want to recognize some of our partners that help us.

Beecher Dunbar Pembine Fire Department - Fire Department Partner

Integrity Care EMS, Bay Area Paramedics - Paramedic Intercept Services

Marinette County Sheriff's Department, Niagara Police Department, Marinette County Dispatch Center- Local Law Enforcement Partners

Marshfield Medical Center - Dickinson, Aurora Bay Area - Local hospital Partners

Eagle III, Life Link 3, Guardian Flight - aeromedical partners

Dr Jeffery Swift - Medical Director

Towns of Dunbar, Pembine, and Beecher

I am sure there are others I have missed.

And You! You are a valued partner through your support of us! It is through your generous donations that we are able to consistenly be moving forward, improving, and investing in better and improved equipment and supplies to be able to better care for our patients. We appreciate the trust and investments that you have made in us to allow us to invest in our care of our patients.

Due to our switch from Astrea to Spectrum for our phone and internet, our office phone number is currently disconnected while they port over the number. This should be corrected in the next day or two.

If you need the office between now and then, we can be reached at 715 324 1013 and we will get back with you asap.

As always, if it is an emergency, please hang up and dial 911.

We are so thankful for the organizations that come along side us to partner with and support us. Today I want to highlight 3 organizations who have helped out in the last few weeks.

In the end of December, Pfluger Brothers Fishing Club presented PDB Rescue Squad with a check for $1500 raised through their annual duck race and raffle. Over the years they have been a constant support, not only to us but to other organizations and causes in the Beecher/ Miscauno Island/ Menominee River area.

We also recieved a donation from Stephenson National Bank & Trust - SNBT. Unfortunatly. I didnt get a picture with you all this year, but please know we greatly appreciate your support and help.

We also want to thank County Rescue/ EAGLE III. They donated several new cables and sets of AED pads for our Zoll AED's/Cardiac monitors. These cables are not inexpensive and are vital to keeping our monitors working well and ready when they are needed. You all are a valued partner for all the EMS agencies in northeast WI.

Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported our organization this year. Your support means so much to us!

As we close the book on 2025 and open the book on 2026 there are so many things that we could talk about.

2025 was a busy year for Pembine Dunbar Beecher Rescue Squad, but through it all our dedicated staff met and exceeded expectations. We are so thankful for the different staff members and all the work they put in to make our organization successful. This year also brought improvements to the department by being able to utilize AEMT staffing when the staffing is available, increasing our patient care abilities.

We also want to give a shoutout to our many great supporters. We greatly appreciate all the wonderful organizations and individuals that have supported us this last year. Your notes of encouragement and financial contributions mean so much to us and are invaluable to supporting our organization.

As we look ahead to 2026 we look forward to seeing what will happen and how we will grow as an organization.

If you would like to join our team, please contact us and we would love to see how you can fit into the team. Your support means so much to us, and we look forward to serving our communities more in 2026!

Happy thanksgiving to our friends and family! Please enjoy your day whether in the woods, in the kitchen, or my personal favorite, the dining room table.

Take some time to be thankful for those around you, and remember those that may not be with you this year. Stay safe and have a wonderful thanksgiving day!

Pembine Dunbar Beecher Reacue Squad is proud to announce the selection of PDBRS EMR Barb Scherbarth as the 2025 First Responder of the Year for WI Assembly District 36! We are so proud that Barb was chosen to be recognized for her hard work and dedication to our community. We are proud to work along side of her and calls her not just a co-worker, but a friend. Please join me in congratulating Barb for this wonderful accomplishment!

From Rep. Jeff Mursau -

Again, I would like to thank everyone who submitted a Hometown Hero nomination. There were very deserving first responders for this recognition program. Having to pick just one, I selected Barbara Scherbarth of the Pembine Dunbar Beecher Rescue Squad as the 2025 First Responder of the Year for District 36. As an active EMR at 80 years young, Barbara in no way shape or form has let age prevent her from serving her community. I look forward to highlighting Barbara at the ceremony on October 14th in Madison.

Videos of this event have been making their way around social media over the last few days. This video is a powerful example of what happens when people are trained in CPR. Mr. Wende's heart stopped durring a comedy show. Trained bystanders recognized the need, started CPR and saved the man's life. CPR TRAINING SAVES LIVES! If you or your business is interested in CPR training, please contact us and one of our instructors will get in contact with you to discuss how we can help you. We can be reached here via messenger, at the office at 715-324-5656, or via email at [email protected].
