Due to parking lot resurfacing at our station, our offices will be closed to the public on August 10th.

Emergency responses will not be impacted. If you need assistance, please call our office phone at 715-324-5656 and we will assist you as best we can. As always, if it is an emergency, please contact 911 for Marinette County Dispatch.

Monday evening one of our crews had the opportunity to attend the Tri-County National Night Out, hosted at NWTC- Aurora. It is always a great opportunity to get out and meet people and help share some information with the public.

The crew handed out "build your own ambulance" craft sheets, family emergency plan booklets, and the crowd favorite, candy.

Also back this year were the popular Epi-Pen trainers. They provide a fun and interactive learning opportunity for adults and kids alike on how to use Epi-pens and some of the different styles that are out there that they might see.

Thanks to the NNO comittee for setting everything up and thanks to everyone who came and visited us! We look forward to seeing you again next year!

Last weekend we had the opportunity to sell brats and corn at the BDP Chamber of Commerce Pembine Picnic as one of our yearly fundraising opportunities. We had a ton of fun and are so thankful for our hard working staff who not only volunteer their time to staff an ambulance, but also volunteered time to cook and serve the brats and corn. Without the dedicated staff, fundraisers like these would never happen.

We would also like to recognize Jandt Farms in Peshtigo for once again donating the corn this year. We sold out and still had people asking for more. If you love fresh local corn, go visit them at the big chicken at the corner of 180 and Cty T near Marinette.

We also want to thank Pam and Kevin Krueger and Thrivant Financial services for their generous donations to help keep our cost low.

Finally, one last shoutout to our amazing staff and their family members. If you saw or heard the laughter and smiles you would never have known we were there working. It is a pleasure to work alongside each of you and I thank you for your hard work.

Yesterday EMS lost a hero and a ledgend. Randy Mantooth, far better known as Firefighter/Paramedic John Gage, died at age 80.

John Gage and his partner Ray DeSoto were paramedics for Los Angeles County Fire Department Rescue Squad 51 on the TV show Emergency!, introducing the viewers to the EMS profession that was still in its infantcy at the time. Many Paramedics and EMT's today can trace their first love of the profession back to watching those paramedics on Saturday nights on NBC.

Not only did Randy inspire generations of Emt's, Paramedics, and Firefighters, but even after the show finished, Randy spent time advocating for the EMS profession.

His family said, "Beyond acting, Randy’s bond with the emergency services community became one of the most meaningful parts of his life. He dedicated himself to honoring firefighters and paramedics ensuring that their courage, sacrifice, and humanity were recognized.”

Rest easy, we'll take it from here. Squad 51, you are out of service.

This week, May 17th - 23rd is EMS week. This week we want to recognize the Drivers, EMR's, EMT's, AEMT's, and Paramedics that make up our crews. We work together to help serve our communities and patients each and every day. These staff members sacrifice hundreds of hours of their time to make our organization operate.

This year's theme for EMS week is "Improving Outcomes Together" and on this first day of EMS week I want to recognize some of our partners that help us.

This month, take a class, learn how to help others stop bleeding and possibly save a life. Take a look at yourr home, workplace, school, or place or worship and see what supplies you may or may not have. Want to learn about what to put in a Stop The Bleed kit ir othser first aid kits? Just ask!
