🎭 Madagascar Jr. Virtual Audition Reminder

If your student received a virtual audition form, their audition video must be completed and submitted by 8:00 PM tomorrow, Thursday, August 27.

For the virtual audition, students should:

Record a short video singing a school-appropriate song
Choose any song they enjoy — it does not have to be from Madagascar Jr.
Make sure they can be clearly seen and heard in the video
Email the completed audition video to Mr. Quarles at mailto:[email protected]

Please be sure all videos are received by 8:00 PM Thursday so auditions can be reviewed and casting decisions can begin.

🎭 Audition Volunteers Needed!

Tomorrow is our third day of Madagascar Jr. auditions, and we need 3 parent volunteers to help from 2:50–6:00 PM.

Volunteers will help es**rt students to and from the audition room and keep everything running smoothly. We do need all 3 volunteers to be available for the entire time.

To help us keep the audition area as quiet and distraction-free as possible for our students, we ask that volunteers please not bring children with them, if at all possible.

If you’re able to help, please comment below or send us a message. We’d be so grateful for the extra hands!

🎭 Madagascar Jr. Audition Update 🎭

All in-person audition time slots have now been filled! Due to the overwhelming response, we will now move to virtual auditions for any additional students.

Please check your child’s backpack/take-home folder for their audition schedule and important audition information.

Also, because of the incredible interest, please remember that auditions are scheduled only and are not open auditions. All details regarding your student’s assigned audition time will be included in their take-home folder.

For scheduled auditions, please note:

* Arrive 10–15 minutes early for check-in and preparation
* When you arrive, please pull into the back bus loop
* Parents should walk students to Mr. Quarles’ back door for check-in

🎭 MADAGASCAR JR. AUDITIONS EXTENDED! 🦁🐧🦓

WOW, Wildcats! We have officially filled every one of our original audition slots for Madagascar Jr.!

Because of the amazing response, we are extending auditions through Thursday!

If your student would still like the opportunity to audition, ALL audition forms must be turned in by Tuesday, August 25. Once forms are received, we will work to schedule our additional audition times.

We are so excited to see how many Wildcats are ready to “move it, move it” on stage! 🐾🎭

🎭 Big news, Wildcats! 🦁🐧🦓🦛
We're so excited to announce this year's Ellen Woodside Elementary PTA fundraiser... Madagascar Jr.!
One of the things we're most excited about is having the show directed by one of our very own, Copeland Quarles! As an EWE 4K teacher and experienced theater director, Mr. Quarles is the perfect person to help our students shine on stage. We can't wait to see the amazing show they'll create together!
📅 Auditions: August 24 & 25, 2026
🎭 Performances: May 14 & 15, 2027
This is such a fun opportunity for our Wildcats to build confidence, make new friends, work as a team, and create memories they'll never forget. Best of all, this production is one of our PTA's biggest fundraisers, helping support our students, teachers, and school programs all year long.
We'll be sharing more details about auditions, registration, and eligibility soon, so keep an eye out!
Until then... get ready to "move it, move it" all the way to the EWE stage! 🐾🌴
