Our first student, Asia from Italy arrived last night. The Rotary club in Ankeny and the Nord family are very excited to be hosting her this year. The '26 - '27 school year is off to a great start.

One of the best parts of Rotary is seeing the impact of programs come full circle.

This week, the Rotary Club of Muscatine welcomed current Rotarian Rick Stammer, who first spoke to our club in 2006 after returning from his own year abroad as a Rotary Youth Exchange student. Today, Rick serves as the Rotary Youth Exchange Chair for District 6000, helping the next generation of students experience the same life-changing opportunity.

Rick shared how Rotary Youth Exchange connects more than 7,000 students each year across 51 countries, building cultural understanding, lifelong friendships, and leadership skills. He also introduced the Family-to-Family Exchange, a short-term program that allows students and families to experience another culture through an approximately eight-week exchange.

The Rotary Club of Muscatine is excited to begin rebuilding our long-standing Youth Exchange tradition.

Francesco has had an incredible year. It was a such a pleasure to get to know him.
