Stop asking women when they are going to have a baby.
IT IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS
Infertility, PCOS, endometriosis, baby loss, miscarriage(s), birth trauma, mental health, finances, health are just a few reasons why you should NEVER ask a woman when she is ‘planning’ on falling pregnant.
For some women, being asked when they are having a baby, is triggering. And yes, I’m mentally mature enough to know that only I am responsible for dealing with/working through my triggers and how I react BUT… you NEVER know what is going on behind doors. Asking what seems like a ‘normal’ question can feel like a punch right in the gut.
I can’t tell you the amount of times I was asked and each time it hurt. Maybe I had taken yet another negative pregnancy test that day. Maybe despite the hormones treatments my body still just won’t ovulate and now expensive fertility clinic is your next step. Yet also, you can’t afford it. Financially nor emotionally if you have it fail you.
You will never know what journeys people have been on or are still going through. Please think before you speak.
