Last week our staff and Board Member Garry Staples were given the privledge to speak to this year's Leadership St. Clair class on their AG Day.

Class participants toured several local farms learning about St. Clair County's strong AG roots. The Staples family welcomed everyone for lunch while we shared about the ag industry and programs and resources in place to help sustain and enhance operations.

From cattle to chickens, to tomatoes and blueberries, St. Clair County's AG roots run deep and diversified to help feed our communities. ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿšœ

Last week we had such a fun time learning with students from Coosa Valley about soil and building Soil Babies! Together they learned there is a difference between dirt and soil and what all plants need to survive. โค๏ธ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’ง๐ŸŒค

We can't wait to see how tall their babies grass hairs will get in the coming days! ๐Ÿ˜

BIG thank you to our friends at the St. Clair Co-Op for tag teaming with us and providing soil and seeds for all the students. ๐Ÿ‘

We had an incredible time at our 2nd Women in Agriculture Workshop this weekendโ€”an inspiring two days dedicated to learning, connecting, and growing together! ๐ŸŒฑ

Empowering women with hands-on farm and livestock skills is so important! Whether itโ€™s caring for animals, managing land, or handling day-to-day operations, these skills build confidence, independence, and resilience. Women play a vital role in agriculture, and opportunities like this help ensure they have the knowledge and support to thrive in every aspect of the field.

We were also honored to hear from knowledgeable speakers representing a variety of resource agencies. Their insights, expertise, and willingness to share valuable tools and programs made a lasting impact on everyone in attendance Friday night. We especially enjoyed locally sourced beef for our dinner thanks to Dye Branch Farms and expertly cooked by our St. Clair County Cattlemen.

On Saturday, ladies grouped together and rotated thru stations to enhance their skills and later put to the test with a fun relay game! ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŒพ

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our generous sponsors and donors who made this workshop possible: Dixie Sod Farm, Dye Branch Farms, St. Clair Co-op, Coosa Valley RC&D, Tractor Supply Company, The Home Depot, The Golden Family, and the St. Clair Extension Service. Your support helps us continue creating meaningful opportunities for our agricultural community.

Hereโ€™s to strong women, strong farms, and a strong future in agriculture! ๐Ÿ’š

Agriculture touches every aspect of life! And bonus-- it's Alabama's #1 industry too. AG is strong in St. Clair County and we have a great community of farmers and who work in acres and not hours, who work in the blazing heat and bitter cold, who rise before dawn and don't quit until the job is done, even if it means midnight.

Join us in thanking your local farmers. Get to know them and buy local.

Happy National Ag Day!๐Ÿšœ๐Ÿ’š

We appreciate the hardworking farmers, foresters and producers who keep our state and our nation fed, clothed and thriving. Agriculture is Alabamaโ€™s #1 industry, contributing billions to our economy and supporting communities across all 67 counties.

Thank you to the men and women who rise before the sun, care for their animals and crops and ensure Alabama continues to grow strong!

What a great AL Arbor Week event we had on Friday! St. Clair residents showed up ready to plant trees ๐ŸŒณ in celebration.

We are thankful for the partnership with the AL Forestry Commission in providing trees for this yearly celebration and the City of Pell City for recognizing the importance of Arbor Week in Alabama and reinstating their "Tree City" status. ๐Ÿ‘ Thanks to all who came out and eager to get trees.
