Pelican Volunteer Fire & EMS

Pelican Volunteer Fire & EMS Welcome to Pelican Volunteer Fire & EMS departments page. We are located in the small remote community of Pelican, Alaska. We are a small volunteer department.

Pelican Volunteer Fire & EMS provides emergency fire and medical services to the residents of Pelican, Sunnyside and Phonograph, Alaska. Our department consists of 6 full time volunteers. PVFD has an interesting dynamic, being so rural and small, we do not have regular dispatch. Our department has a landline, with a long range, that is carried 24/7 by our volunteers so that we are able to assist c

ommunity members whenever needed. Pelican Volunteer Fire & EMS works closely in collaboration with the SEARHC clinic here in our community to be able to provide the best services for those in an emergency.

Today is the final day for our Rural Basic Fire Fighter training. Huge thank you to Lisa Shields, Paul Pellegrini for the training, Jessica Adams for putting everything together for it and our volunteers for participating! This has been incredibly beneficial for pur community and fire department.

Going forward, if anyone has questions or concerns about prevention please reach out to us. Our Fire Chief, Robert Adams, will be looking at doing community training with fire extinguishers in the near future. Thank you again everyone for everything!
