What a perfect evening for WOTW Trap Shooting! Thank you to the ladies who came out to shoot tonight … it was great getting to know you and watching you blast those clays! Milkweed in the Classroom - Project Success!
Here are a few photos of the recent project at VES, under the guidance of teachers Mrs. Westby, Mrs. Mackner, and Mr. Lindberg. The teachers made the "Milkweed in the Classroom" materials part of a science hands-on project to teach their 3rd grade students the importance of healthy environments, specifically to help the Monarch Butterfly population. The students grew milkweed plants from seeds, and then planted them in local plots at Viking Elementary School, hoping that these plants will help continue the life cycle of the Monarch Butterfly. Many thanks to the teachers and students involved, and also Sheri Meester, Patty Johnson, Gary Kowalski, and the Pelican River Pheasants Forever chapter for supporting this project.
