As part of its early planning process, the Oktoberfest committee recently reviewed and approved several funding applications for local projects, made possible through proceeds from last year’s event. This year, three projects were selected to receive support, reflecting a shared commitment to enhancing community spaces and experiences.
Among the recipients is Pelican Rapids’ Peteyville, which will receive $5,000 toward the creation of a giant snowman—an exciting addition that is sure to bring joy to residents and visitors during the holidays. The City of Erhard has been awarded $2,500 to support a new community mural project, an initiative aimed at celebrating local culture and beautifying public spaces. In addition, $2,500 has been granted for new playground equipment at the Erhard park, following an application submitted by the Erhard 4th of July Committee.
These contributions highlight the Octoberfest Committee’s ongoing mission to reinvest in the community and support projects that bring people together.
Community members interested in getting involved with the Octoberfest Committee are warmly encouraged to join. The next meeting is scheduled for May 21 at 5:00 p.m. in the Pelican Library meeting room. New participants are always welcome as the committee continues to plan for another memorable Octoberfest season.
