Project Community Inc. Innovative health-related programming including: Project CHILDD, Project REWIND I (binge-drinking) and REWIND II (sexual assault prevention)

Project Community began over 30 years ago, when a small group of nurses in partnership with their community decided that people needed health care knowledge instead of just health care directions. To do this, they created programs that were innovative and entertaining, located in the community, and that charged little or nothing. This approach hasn't changed. Our mission is to create a network of

caring people to serve the needs of the communities where we all live together, and to tackle health issues at a grassroots level. Project REWIND I and II address crucial issues of physical and mental heath that are impacting our youth: binge drinking and sexual assault. The REWIND programs use current research and innovative teaching strategies to empower teens and young adults to intervene. The programs are available to schools and other groups for a nominal fee. Project CHILDD (Community Helping in Learning about Developmental Disabilities), provides free monthly social and arts programs to kids with developmental delays. Project Community, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, based in Pelham, NY.

We are excited to further our partnership with the Pelham Art Center by offering the Smarty Arts Program! Smarty Arts will include hands on art projects, dance, music, and yoga opportunities.

This program was initiated to supplement the Summer Stars school program and will be offered Fridays from 9:30-11:30 AM. Programming will run from July 10th through August 21st. Students in Summer Stars grades 3-6 are encouraged to attend. The cost will be $140 for all the Friday sessions. Families can register at the following link:
