Hello all , just wanted to drop a quick reminder that our next peer golf clinic will be held on next Monday June the 8th from 10 - 12 am. We are excited to have the Thomas Grady Service Center planning to participate as well ! If you know anyone that wants to participate just have them call robert at 2293430269 . I will also be beginning the process of getting hole sponsorships up for the tournament in November after the 4th of July holiday. Thanks as always to all the volunteers and sponsors that help keep the clinic and tournament running 12 years strong ! You are truly changing the lives of people with mental illness in our local community!

Happy Tuesday everyone ! We just had our monthly golf clinic yesterday. Our volunteers are growing and I want to thank everyone that is making this a success. I want to give a special thanks to Mr. Terry Everette and his church group for helping out each month. We had 5 participants yesterday but we should have a full group the month of June. I spoke with the mitchell baker service center yesterday and they are going to bring a group from their center next month .

Hope everyone's having a great week. I wanted to send out a reminder that our next peer golf clinic will be Monday May 11th at 10 am . We have spots available for participants if anyone knows someone with a mental and or physical disability that wishes to learn the game of golf. They can call me at 2293430269 to register. Currently we have 5 signed up for Mondays clinic. As always thanks to all the volunteers that make the clinic and golf tournament possible every year.

Happy Friday everyone! I am pleased to announce the 11th annual whiddon tucker memorial golf tournamant will be Sunday November the 1st at 9:30 am . I will be sending flyers out for this years event the first of next week . Due to the golf course charging a higher rate we will have to raise entry fee to 70 dollars per player from 60 . This still is a great deal because the 70 dollars gets you 18 holes with two mulligans and also a free lunch ! Just like last year all the hole sponsorships will go to Pines of Promise a non profit ran by Georgia Pines to help those with mental illness in south georgia . The tournament proceeds will go the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network which hosts one of the largest statewide annual conferences in the nation for those of us with mental illness along with having warm lines and peer respect centers across the state . Lastly , a portion of the proceeds will go to the Yellow Elephant a su***de prevention resource in Southwest Georgia.

I am excited for this years event and I truly appreciate all the sponsors and volunteers that have helped this event be a great success for the past 11 years . You truly help improve the lives of those with mental illness in our local community . Online donations can be made at www.whiddontuckermemorial.com. Hello all , we had our second peer clinic yesterday and I want to thank Mr. Terry Everett and his golf group for coming out to help! I truly appreciate their time to this great cause . Unfortunately we only had 2 clients that participated this time but they both had a great time and I am sure our attendance will grow next month . Speaking of attendance , please let anyone you know that has a mental or physical disability that wishes to learn the game of golf our next clinic will be Monday May the 11th at 10 am . I have room for at least 5 more participants due to the level of volunteers I have . If anyone is interested they can call me at 2293430269 . As you know I am in the process of working with the georgia state golf association to make this an official adaptive golf clinic in georgia .

Secondly , I will be posting the date and time of the 11th annual whiddon tucker memorial golf tournament later this week. This is the event I have each year where clients of the peer clinic participate and it raises thousands of dollars each year for those in mental illness in the local community.
