To honor and fulfill her legacy in the healthcare field, the family and friends of Rosa Kittrell-Barksdale have created a scholarship fund in her name to help support aspiring area students who are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. To honor and fulfill her legacy in the healthcare field, the family and friends of Rosa Kittrell-Barksdale and the Violet Torch Foundation have created a scholarship fund in her name. The Rosa Kittrell Barksdale Endowment is established under the Violet Torch Foundation for the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Westchester Alumnae Chapter to help support aspiring area students who are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. The Rosa Kittrell-Barksdale Healthcare Career Scholarship will provide funding to support their career interests as it promotes awareness of the ideals held closely by a true healthcare pioneer and leader in this field.
