Free tutoring is available at the YWCA Pekin for any adult who needs help with Adult Basic Education (ABE), English Language Learning (ELL/ESL), or GED (IL High School Diploma)! The Heart of Illinois Adult Literacy Center project was made possible by a grant awarded by the Illinois State Library (ISL), a division of the Office of Secretary of State, using state funds designed for literacy.

Anger can be like a blanket. It can hide deeper feelings underneath it. Sometimes we notice the anger most. But underneath it, there may be pain, fear, sadness, or stress.

When we look beneath the anger, we understand the child better. We can’t truly help the behavior until we understand what is causing it.
