State Sen. Pete Harckham and Caring for the Hungry and Homeless of Peekskill (CHHOP) will host a community food drive on Saturday, May 30 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Peekskill High School.

The food drive will collect nonperishable food, hygiene products, diapers and pet food to support local families and older adults facing food insecurity.

Peekskill and Hendrick Hudson athletes delivered strong performances Wednesday at the Section 1 Class B Track and Field Championships at Hendrick Hudson High School.

Amanda Nelson led Peekskill with a fourth-place finish in the long jump, while Gregory Tompkins III paced the Red Devils boys team. Hendrick Hudson’s Taiten Robinson repeated as pentathlon sectional champion, Sophia Savatgy won the 200- and 400-meter titles, and Oona McManus set a new school record in the 800 meters.
