What an incredible afternoon at Praise in the Garden at Peekskill Regeneration Farm.
Our Just The Place dancers performed three pieces as part of a beautiful program that brought together dance, live music, poetry, food, and community in one shared space. We were also so happy to see another member of our faculty, Michelle, take part by sharing several wonderful poems.
A very special thank-you goes to Ms. Amanda, one of our Just The Place teachers, for the care and dedication she brings to her work at Peekskill Regeneration Farm and for hosting and coordinating this entire event. It was inspiring to see all of the pieces come together, from the singers and dancers to the poets, organizers, volunteers, and everyone who gathered to support one another.
It was especially wonderful to see our Just The Place students volunteering throughout the event and helping serve food to community members. Seeing them contribute not only as performers, but also through service, made the day feel even more meaningful.
And of course, we loved seeing so many of our Just The Place parents there cheering everyone on, especially those proudly wearing their Just The Place Parent T-shirts. That kind of support means so much to our dancers and to the spirit of our whole community.
Guests were treated to a free farm-to-table meal, making the afternoon nourishing in every sense: creatively, physically, communally, and spiritually.
Praise in the Garden benefited Building Eden Farms and its mission of regenerative farming and community nourishment, with support from the New York State Council on the Arts, ArtsWestchester, and The Awesome Foundation.
Thank you to everyone who came out, performed, volunteered, shared a meal, lent a hand, cheered from the audience, and helped create such a meaningful gathering. It was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together to create, serve, connect, and nourish one another.
Stay tuned for more photos and videos from the day!
