Today is not about cookouts, cold drinks, long weekends, or parties…

Today is about remembrance.

It is about the brave men and women who willingly laid down their lives so that we could live in freedom. It is about the empty seats at dinner tables, the folded flags held tightly by grieving families, the birthdays missed, the dreams left unfinished, and the sacrifices@ that most of us will never fully comprehend.

Memorial Day is not simply another holiday. It is a sacred reminder that freedom has never been free.

While many gather today with friends and family, we ask that everyone take a moment to pause and remember those who never made it home. Remember the heroes who gave everything- not for recognition, not for praise, but for the country they loved and the people they vowed to protect.

“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13

Today, we will also spend time reflecting on the life of Brandon and all that he stood for- his heart, his service, his compassion, and the impact he made on so many lives. As we remember him, we remain committed to continuing his legacy and carrying forward the values he lived by each and every day.

May we never take sacrifice for granted. May we honor our fallen heroes not only with words, but with gratitude, humility, and remembrance.

Today, we remember. Today, we honor. Today, we carry their legacy forward.

On Monday evening, the Brandon C. Franzen Memorial Foundation attended the senior awards banquet at Western High School. Our Vice President, Dr. Lisa Cramer, was honored and privileged to have presented two $500 scholarships to graduating seniors. ❤️🎓

We received several incredible applications this year, and narrowing them down was difficult. There were two students whose applications truly stood out to us. As we reviewed their applications, we learned a little more about them, and when reading their essays, it was a blessing to feel like Brandon was right there with us. 🥹🙌🏼 The character, goals, and hearts of these students reflected so many of the qualities that Brandon carried with him every day.

Being able to give back to our community in a way that honors Brandon’s legacy means more to us than words can express. We truly believe this is exactly the kind of impact he would have wanted to make, and we are so proud to continue that mission through this foundation.

Congratulations to this year’s recipients- Miss Madison A. Walls and Miss Jillian P. Smith! We are excited to help both of you start this next step of your journey and see all that your future holds. ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

First of what is to come...

🎟Most Veteran organizations have some type of revenue. Whether it be bingo, raffles, alcohol or whatever...we do not!

🏧When we first started the plan was to collect insurance money from Medicaid, but the rules were switched so we could not bill for those services. We were then told to work with ADAMH or MHRS Boards at the county level...quickly discovered how far "supporting Veterans" goes. Long story short, the plan was unsustainable.

🪖Founder and President Jeremy Parkins designed a new program, that had been in the works for 3 years. The Strategic Planning Committee and Board of Directors (in its entirety) then focused the program and approved its implementation. That program then was revised to become the Veteran Empowerment and Training Service (VETS) program which will work with Veteran Entrepreneurs or those needing new vocation to teach them digital design, merchandising, sales, etc.

❓️Where do you come in?

👨‍👩‍👦You (THE COMMUNITY AT-LARGE) can then come in to utilize this paid service to create, design and print various wearables.

🖨The printing processes we are utilizing to start are DTF/DTG and Sublimation.
