Wony Walia loves Pearland’s Parks and Recreation programs. As a 30-year-old with autism, he feels welcomed and included in so many programs beyond simple recreation.
“These opportunities have encouraged greater community integration and engagement, helping him develop skills that improve his overall quality of life,” Monika Walia said.
The planned inclusive playspace and splashpad at Independence Park would be a gamechanger for Wony and so many in our community who rely on adaptive recreation programs to enrich their lives.
“It would create a place where Wony could participate alongside his peers and community members,” Monika said, “not as someone on the outside looking in, but as someone who truly belongs.”
Your contribution could make this a reality for Wony and so many in our community who need it! To make your gift to the Independence Park Project, visit https://foreverparksfoundation.org/donate.
