Jane Ragsdale Legacy Foundation

Jane Ragsdale Legacy Foundation Our Foundation was formed following the tragic death of Jane Ragsdale in the 2025 Kerr County floods. Here is where we continue Jane’s story…

She spent more than 50 years shaping lives as the Director/Owner of Heart O’ the Hills Camp for Girls. The purpose and objectives of the Jane Ragsdale Legacy Foundation, a non-profit organization (which is organized and operated for charitable and educational purposes as defined in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code) is to:

1. Raise monies for annual Jane Ragsdale Legacy Scholarship(s

) for: (a) Campers, specifically girls 6-16 years old, attending a 2-4 week summer camp, and demonstrating financial need; and (b) College students attending Texas Woman's University or Schreiner University in the fall.

2. Contribute to charitable causes which support empowering young girls and women.

3. Support educational programs for campers and youth organizations, e.g. American Red Cross Serving the Texas Hill Country.

4. Support humanitarian causes in Central America, specifically Let Hope Begin Here Guatemala.

5. Raise monies for the possible rebuilding/relocating of structures damaged at Heart O’ the Hills Camp for Girls following the deadly, devastating Kerr County floods along the Guadalupe River on July 4, 2025. Board of Directors - Meredith Hill, Monique Cikota, Cristi Lee Ahern, Molly Dale Crow, Louann Nadalini, Kathryn Brown Horner, and Bailey McEachern

With only a few weeks away from greeting Heart campers at the new location, there is plenty with which we can help! There's still so many projects of organizing supplies, assembling purchased items, cabin clean/prep, clearing activity areas, picking up counselors from the San Antonio airport, and many more fun projects! If you can lend a hand, please reach out to the Heart office at 830-353-8673 to get more details. Thank you, in advance, to our amazing foundation family!
