Like many nonprofits we did not have the opportunity to raise funds at our annual fashion show. The need is even greater now locally with so many suffering form job loss and illness. If you are looking for a way to help others? There is a community in Houston that appears to be struggling more than others. It is the Gulfton community. Sherry Stockwell went there and met the organizers of an event to help on December 12th.
We are gathering basic needs items like: towels, sheets, mattresses, microwaves, dishes other household needs. We will deliver these items December 12th.
I am including the event flyer and a photo of a family that has touched my heart. Omar is 11 years old and currently fighting leukemia. He needs a total covid free environment. His family cannot be exposed as this would be life threatening for Omar.
He needs a computer to continue his studies. A used one is fine.
One World committee is still a group of committed citizens and will be back again in 2021. Please pm if you have any of these items.
