Celebrate Recovery at Crosspoint Church Celebrate Recovery at Crosspoint is a Christ-centered, 12-step recovery ministry for anyone with life’s hurts, hang-ups, and habits. Everyone is welcome.

Find hope, healing, and freedom through Jesus in a safe, authentic, judgment-free community. We meet Mondays at 7pm in-person at our 1134 Old Alvin Road Campus in Pearland, Texas. We also post a weekly recovery devotional right here on Monday afternoons. Our step studies and open share groups are now meeting in-person. The purpose of Celebrate Recovery is to experience God’s healing power in our lives through eight Biblical recovery principles and Christ-centered 12 Steps, while maintaining anonymity and confidentiality in a family atmosphere. Through honest, authentic relationships and by applying the principles learned, we begin to grow spiritually and become free from our unhealthy behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others.

Have you ever heard something that really spoke to your heart, only to realize a few days later that life has gotten so busy you’ve barely thought about it again? Maybe it was something you heard during worship, a Bible verse that seemed to speak directly to your circumstances, or a conversation that gave you an entirely new perspective.

Those moments can be powerful. They encourage us, challenge us, and remind us of truths we sometimes forget. But what if we didn’t let those moments end there?

Romans 12:2 reminds us to “be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Transformation isn’t simply about having an emotional experience or hearing something that inspires us. It’s also about allowing God’s truth to shape the way we think, the choices we make, and the way we respond to the world around us. And that can happen in surprisingly ordinary ways.

Maybe it’s recognizing an unhealthy thought pattern and challenging it with truth. Maybe it’s choosing to respond with patience instead of reacting out of frustration. Or maybe it’s remembering something God has taught you in a moment when you really need it.

These may seem like small things, but they’re meaningful opportunities to practice what we’re learning.

So here’s a little encouragement for today: Don’t underestimate the impact of putting one meaningful truth into practice.

What we learn in our time with God can continue bearing fruit long after the moment itself has passed. 🧡

We’d love to continue growing alongside you this Monday night at Celebrate Recovery. We’re saving a seat for you!

Yesterday at Celebrate Recovery, it was such a gift to simply sit, breathe, and soak up God’s presence. To quiet the noise, let our shoulders relax, and just be with Him without needing to find the right words.

Pastor Dean shared a beautiful reflection on God’s name, Yahweh, and the idea that the sounds of our breathing can echo His name. Just think about that for a moment. Something we do every second, often without even noticing, can remind us of the God who breathed life into us. It brings such beautiful depth to Psalm 150:6: “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”

Sometimes praise comes easily. In answered prayers, laughter with people we love, beautiful mornings, and the countless little blessings we experience every day. But sometimes life feels heavy, and we can’t quite find the words or the strength to praise. Even then, the breath in our lungs can remind us that God is near. We don’t have to have everything figured out or feel a certain way to turn our hearts toward Him.

That’s part of what made yesterday’s extended worship so meaningful. We had the opportunity to slow down, be still in God’s presence, and bring everything before Him: our gratitude, our joy, our struggles, and even the things we haven’t quite found the words for yet.

We’re so thankful for Pastor Dean and our worship leaders, who intentionally create space for moments like these and remind us how meaningful it can be to simply slow down and spend time in God’s presence.

As you go through this week, we’d love to challenge you to carry that awareness into your everyday moments. While washing dishes, sitting in traffic, enjoying time with your family, or facing something difficult, take a moment to turn your heart toward God. Let the simple rhythm of your breathing remind you of His presence and become an opportunity to praise Him, whether through gratitude, worship, or simply trusting Him with whatever you’re carrying.

There’s room for praise in the ordinary, in the beautiful, and in the hard. May each breath remind us to turn our hearts toward Him and say, “Thank You for this breath, Lord. Help me notice Your goodness and praise You in this moment.” 🤍

We’d love for you to join us at Celebrate Recovery on Monday nights. We’re saving a seat for you! 🧡

Join us tomorrow night for a special evening at Celebrate Recovery. We’ll start early at 6:15 PM with dinner and fellowship, then move into an extended time of worship during large group. We’ll also celebrate recovery milestones with our monthly Chip Celebration, taking time to recognize the courage, faithfulness, and progress represented in each step forward.

Matthew 18:20 says, “For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.” There’s something powerful about gathering with people who understand that recovery is rarely a straight line and that every step matters. Fellowship reminds us we don’t have to walk alone. Worship gives us space to turn our attention back to God. And chip celebration gives us a chance to stop and recognize what God has been doing, even in the small, steady changes that can be easy to overlook.

Whether you’re receiving a chip, cheering someone else on, brand new to CR, or simply needing a place to reconnect with God and with others, there’s a place for you tomorrow night.

Come hungry, come expectant, and come as you are. 🧡

We’re saving a seat for you.

👣 Step Forward Saturday: Look Back Before You Look Ahead

Sometimes one of the most encouraging things we can do in recovery is pause long enough to notice how far God has already brought us.

This week, we’ve talked about trusting God, returning our wills to Him daily, and giving ourselves room to grow without expecting perfection. So today, before looking ahead to what’s next, take a minute to remember where you’ve already seen growth, strength, or change.

Ask yourself:

What’s one way I respond differently now than I used to?

Maybe you ask for help sooner. Maybe you pause before reacting. Maybe you’re more honest about what you’re feeling. Maybe you’ve learned to set a healthier boundary, stay present in a hard conversation, reach for support instead of an old coping pattern, or return to God more quickly when you realize you’ve started carrying everything on your own again.

Those changes matter.

Psalm 77:11 says, “I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.”

Looking back isn’t about pretending everything is healed or finished. It’s about remembering God’s faithfulness and letting that strengthen us for what’s still ahead.

So today, name something worth remembering.

One change. One answered prayer. One healthier response. One place where you’ve seen God meet you, strengthen you, or help you grow.

And if you’re in a season where progress feels hard to see, remember that faithfulness can look quiet too. Sometimes it’s continuing to show up, continuing to tell the truth, continuing to reach for support, and continuing to turn back toward God.

Recovery gives us reasons to keep going, and it also gives us reasons to stop, remember, and thank God for how far He’s already brought us. 🧡

📚 Freedom Finds Friday: The Inner Voice of Love by Henri Nouwen

Some seasons of recovery are loud and obvious. Others are much quieter, where a lot of the work seems to be happening inside us.

That’s part of what makes The Inner Voice of Love by Henri Nouwen such a meaningful resource. Nouwen wrote these reflections during one of the most painful seasons of his life, as he wrestled with deep anguish, loneliness, identity, and even his sense of hope in God. What began as a private journal became a collection of short spiritual reflections that offer encouragement for moving through pain toward greater hope, freedom, and a deeper awareness of God’s love.

This isn’t an official Celebrate Recovery resource, but its themes connect beautifully with some of what we’ve been talking about this week.

In TURN, we were reminded that trusting God is something we return to daily. And sometimes part of that process is paying attention to the messages we’ve been carrying inside. Are fear, shame, comparison, or the pressure to have everything together shaping the way we see ourselves? Or are we making room for what God says is true?

Romans 8 reminds us that nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. That truth can matter deeply in recovery. Our hardest season, our biggest struggle, and the parts of our story we’re still working through don’t put us outside the reach of God’s love.

You don’t have to read this book quickly for it to make an impact. The short reflections are easy to take one at a time, giving you space to pause, pray, and notice what each one brings to the surface. It can be one more resource alongside Scripture, prayer, healthy support, and the work you’re already doing in recovery.

Sometimes freedom grows quietly as we learn to recognize the messages that keep us stuck and return again to the truth of who God is and who we are in Him. 🧡

If you’re exhausted from feeling like nothing you do is ever quite enough, you’re not alone. A lot of us come into recovery carrying the pressure to get everything right, keep everything together, and somehow never struggle in the process.

You might be dealing with perfectionism if you find yourself:

👉 Feeling like one mistake erases all your progress.
👉 Comparing your growth to someone else’s and always coming up short.
👉 Putting off things because you’re afraid you won’t do them well enough.
👉 Being much harder on yourself than you would ever be on someone else.
👉 Struggling to celebrate progress because you’re focused on what still needs work.

Perfectionism can make growth feel like a pass or fail test. But recovery isn’t about becoming flawless. It’s about becoming more honest, more teachable, more willing to receive grace, and more open to the work God is doing in us.

Philippians 1:6 reminds us that “he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

That means we can take responsibility for where we still need to grow without condemning ourselves for not being finished yet. We can trust God with the process instead of measuring ourselves only by our own expectations of how fast or neatly change should happen.

Healing can begin when we stop asking, “Why am I not there yet?” and start noticing, “Where has God already helped me grow?”

🧡 Celebrate Recovery is a safe place to be honest about where you are, receive grace, and keep growing without the pressure to be perfect.

💬 Recovery Reality: Trusting God gives us a place to move from.

When we hear words like surrender or turning our lives over to God, it can be easy to wonder what that actually looks like in everyday life.

Biblical trust doesn’t take us out of our own lives. It gives us a steadier place from which to live them.

We can bring a decision to God in prayer and still make the decision. We can ask Him for wisdom and seek wise counsel. We can trust Him while having a hard conversation, asking for help, taking responsibility for our choices, or following through on something we know is important for our recovery.

That’s part of the hope in what we learned through TURN, Monday’s lesson from our CR curriculum. We don’t have to carry life as though everything begins and ends with our own strength or understanding. We get to participate fully in our recovery while depending on God to guide, strengthen, and work within us. 🧡

Philippians 2:13 reminds us, “for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”

There’s something encouraging about knowing that growth isn’t simply a matter of trying harder on our own. God is at work in us, and we’re invited to respond to that work with honesty, faith, wisdom, and action.

So maybe the reflection for today is:
Where could trusting God give me the courage to engage more fully instead of feeling like I have to carry everything by myself?

Trust and responsibility can work together. We can take ownership of what’s ours while resting in the truth that God is present in the process too. 🧡

💭 Takeaway Tuesday: Daily Recommitment

Yesterday, one of our amazing CR leaders shared an impactful lesson on TURN and what it means to place our lives and wills into Christ’s care.

One of the biggest takeaways from Lesson 5 is this: giving our lives to Christ is a commitment, but surrendering our will is something we return to DAILY.

That means trust isn’t only something we declare in one meaningful moment. It’s something we practice in ordinary life, especially when the outcome is uncertain, our emotions are strong, or our instinct is to take everything back into our own hands.

We may genuinely pray, “God, I’m giving this to You,” and mean it. Sometimes we’re able to move forward with peace and confidence in Him. Other times, the fear comes back, the situation stays unresolved, or we catch ourselves trying to control, predict, fix, or carry something that was never ours to hold alone.

That doesn’t mean we failed. It simply means we have another opportunity to return.

Jesus said in Luke 9:23, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”

There’s grace in that word “daily”. God isn’t asking us to prove that we trusted Him perfectly yesterday. He’s inviting us to keep choosing Him TODAY.

And choosing Him doesn’t mean becoming passive. We can still make wise decisions, take responsibility, seek counsel, set boundaries, make amends, ask for help, and do what’s ours to do. The difference is that we stop trying to carry the outcome as if everything depends on US.

Maybe today’s prayer is simply:

“God, I’m placing this back in Your hands. Help me release what I can’t control, be faithful with what is mine to do, and trust You with the rest.”

Sometimes growth looks less like never struggling again and more like returning to God more quickly, more honestly, and with a little more trust each time.

That’s not starting over. That’s part of learning to live surrendered, one day at a time. 🧡

🧡 Tonight at Celebrate Recovery: Lesson 5, TURN

There comes a point in recovery when knowing something needs to change isn’t enough. We have to decide what we’re going to do with what we’ve recognized.

Tonight’s lesson looks at what it means to trust God with our lives and our wills, even when we can’t see the whole path ahead.

That doesn’t mean we suddenly stop struggling, questioning, or wanting control. It means we begin learning to place our confidence somewhere deeper than our own understanding.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

If you’ve ever thought, I know I can’t keep doing this the same way, but I don’t know how to do it differently, tonight is worth showing up for.

Come worship with us, learn with us, and keep taking recovery one day at a time. 🧡
